I was listening to Sirius XM Liquid Metal yesterday and they played Meshuggah's "Bleed". That's some weighty stuff.

That is oddly heavy. I don't listen to much of that stuff any more, so thanks for sharing it.

Easily the most emotionally heavy song i've heard in a long long time, possibly ever:

I'm old, so my idea of "heavy" is probably pretty lame to kids these days. Having said that, Tony Iommi is still the master of the heavy riff:

I'm sure you guys will shred me for this, but this is the emotionally heaviest stuff I've heard recently. Dude that sings it does really well.

On a side note, have you guys heard the new Megadeth record? Personally, I think it's their best record since Countdown To Extinction. I think Chris Adler (Lamb of God) is the best drummer they've ever had and Kiko is second only to Marty Friedman (well, because Marty Friedman!). |

Buju Banton is one of my faves of al tme. This song is full of emotion and is heavy in that way. I'm in bondage living is a mess, I have to rise up eleviate the stress, no longer will I expose my weakness, he who seeks knowledge begins with humbleness.

I'm betting we could have a thread with the 'Saddest' or 'Most Sorrowful' songs that would run for close to 200 posts...but IMO 'Heaviest', as intended by the OP is more along the lines of head pounding drums and grinding riffs that make you want to spit in your hands, hoist the black flag and start cutting throats, or saddle up and ride with a big-ass battle axe.
