I dont think it's a bad deal for the Raiders. They got some great years of Mack paying him his first contract wages and now they will have two additional 1st round pick plus cap space.

I wish the Chiefs would have done with this J. Houston.

Those two picks could end up becoming DeAndre Hopkins and Odell Beckham Jr - or they could become Eric Fisher and Johnny Manziel.
Gimme the proven elite player every time over draft picks that may or may not turn out to be anything. Bears are going to be fun to watch this year. |

Houston was worth this at the same point in his career.

Mack only had what like 9 or 10 sacks last year??? and the Raiders only won 6 games so he wasn't that big of an impact for them... I thought they had a pretty good draft this year and got a good core of young players on that defense.... four first-round picks the next two years could really turn that team around.. there's some good pass-rushers in next year's draft

The Bears overpaid for a 27 year old player in Mack.
The Raiders will most likely be spending those picks to replace LT, LB, WR, CB.

I can imagine the felons and gang bangers in Oakland are going berserk! Trading a tough black guy and keeping the oft injured white QB.
This will not end well for Gruden.....

Peters and Mack are no where in the same ballpark as value goes. Not apples to apples.

People have to understand also that when you pay that passrusher so many million dollars, you end up not being able to retain good players you wish you could keep.

Which is exactly why it was smart of Chicago to do this now, as they have a QB on a rookie contract, and all of their core players are set with long term deals.
