Did you ask him why they stopped playing Rock and Roll after High and Dry?
They have not had a good album out since. |

Isn't that the case w/ that whole genre? If you can't somewhat adapt to style change, you're screwed. Best be able to appeal to a few different audiences too, or you'll end up the musical artists' equivalent to Matt Cassel trying to QB an NFL team.

I saw D L on their first tour and they totally rocked out. When the 90's hit they sold out and cut their hair like Bon jovi. They would have been Rock legends like Scorpions, VH, Rush, OZZy- but they went the pop root- good for them. They keep touring the same good songs from 25 years ago because their albums have been horrible. Has ANY band wasted a great guitarist as bad as they waste VIV? He was amazing with DIO- now he is just a background muscician- is his guitar even plugged in? Sad to think what kind of badass music they could have put out if they stayed true to their roots- and then added a shreader like V C. Instead they have to play- pour some sugar on me every night-lol and play county fairs. That is what happens to Sell Outs. |

Vivian Campbell is nothing more than an average guitarist, especially for that era. He's never been a songwriter, didn't become a producer and hasnt graduated beyond being a sideman. After Dio's death, he put together a band that only plays Dio songs. Lame. He's just another guy. And he's fortunate that Jake decided to join Ozzy. Otherwise, no one would even know his name. |

How could he get away with it? I am surprised Wendy Dio didn't sue his ass off. I am pretty sure she owns the music now? |

IMO, most bands go downhill at some point. I was a big Judas Priest fan back in the day, but I think they went downhill as soon as Halford left the band. Iron Maiden, less so, but even they had some down years. Scorpions haven't exactly torn the place up the last 20 years. Oh, and Klaus Meine and Rudy Schenker cut their hair. To Rush's credit, they've been able to keep things going. Neil Peart and Alex Lifeson both cut their hair though.
