Pretty interesting read from Jim Trotter at ESPN. We're next.

Houston is easily the best defensive player we've had since DT and we'll let him walk because Dorsey plays hardball at the wrong time.
Ugh. We know it's coming. We know it's going to happen. It's like being in the back seat while an accident happens...

I don't feel that way at all. I feel like Berry is the best defensive player we've had since DT. Houston doesn't even go against the other teams best o-linemen very often. He might be your favorite player but he's not our best defensive player. In fact I would rank him as our 5th best defensive player behind Berry, Poe, DJ, and Hali. He's a good young player but he's not there yet. It's not even close. He was productive against RTs and rookies last year.

Houston is like Tamba Hali when he was second fiddle to Jared Allen.
He's not there yet. I'd still rather pay him because he's only going to get better. He's a good long term investment. Alex Smith is just a bunch of pixie dust and pie in the sky hope. And he's 30. With his style of play I bet he's not starting material in four years. |

Damn this league.
