I'll be big into Elite. Just build a new rig for that and GTAV. Running through Black Flag at the moment as well as various older titles that I could never play above medium. Deus Ex-HR, Metro 2033 and Fallout 3.

Will be taking in the free COD-AW MP this weekend. Downloading now.

Elite plays extremely well as far as performance. Your current rig can prob run it if your playing black flag.

So the Steam Holiday sale is on. Keep and eye on your wishlist. Day one was pretty meh for me, but hopefully it gets going later. Last year, Amazon really did some cool things after Christmas to compete. So, hopefully that will be the case this year.

So Valve announced Source 2 and the SteamLink with their controller.

$50 controller

$50 SteamLink for you to stream a game to your tv.

Source 2 engine will be free.

No Half Life 3.

I am in the market for a droidbox to run xbmc. It honestly doesn't sound like a bad deal assuming it can play older games.

I might pick one up.

pretty sure you are locked into the nvidia OS like a console, so wont run XBMC, i guess unless it has architecture which would allow hacked other OS installs.

Then the $64 question is; what is Valve going to use Source 2 for first? HL3 or Left For Dead 3 CS 3 or Team Fortress 3?

I got sick of waiting for the Steamboxes to come out so took the plunge on an Alienware Alpha. So far I love it. I upgraded the hard drive with an SSD and the thing absolutely screams. It boots the the UI in about 5 seconds and runs games like Shadow of Mordor at very high settings with no hiccups.

It's not a steambox quite yet. It's a compact windows 8.1 desktop that boots to a custom UI that opens up steam big picture mode. It doesn't yet run SteamOs.
