No, I'm bitching because Ford has a LOOOOONG ****ing way to go before he should be trusted as a starting OLB on the shittiest of 3-4 NFL defenses.

Dorsey's plan to save money by ditching Hali next year isn't going to fly very well. The downgrade from Hali to Ford will be worse than dropping Danika Patrick for Barbara Bush

Gonna give benefit of the doubt. It was one play. He looked confused/lost and it needs to be corrected. But let's chill and (yes, I'm really gonna say it)...trust the process.

SNR is right by the time Ford develops into anything worth a shit he could be in year 3 or 4 of his rookie contract. We might get one good year out of him before he walks. Its basically shades of Tyson Jackson, Glenn Dorsey, Jon Baldwin, etc

Isn't that what everybody said when Albert was replaced by Eric Fisher?

I seriously don't understand Chiefs Planet's obsession with judging rookies so early in their careers. Knile Davis was flat out terrible until he broke out against San Diego. Travis Kelce was nightmarishly bad last preseason. Several people said Fisher should have been cut last year he was that bad.

Ford is learning a new position. Especially new is coverage responsibilities and clearly, he looked lost. Is it a coincidence that our 3 rookies from last year who are now playing pretty well are starting to look good in year 2? No. The new CBA doesn't give rookies any time to prepare. They have 5 less OTAs, less 2 a days, aren't allowed to even put on pads until several months into the offseason, aren't even allowed to contact coaches until months after they used to be able to.

Wish we could all just chill and give the guy a little time. This is what happens when you draft guys who play difficult positions. They're not going to be ready right away.

Looks like he was fooled. You can see him eyeing Kaep as he shifts the other way. Wasn't even looking at Gore.

I still fail to see how DOZENS of OTs can switch to the right side in one offseason and not suck AIDS, but Eric Fisher can't. Whatever. Fisher was ****ing awful, but he was rarely confused about his responsibilities on certain plays. He just had awful coordination and needed an offseason makeover with the dumbbells (which he didn't even get most of the way, so whatever)

Dee Ford needs much more than that. He's having to re-learn how to ****ing play football. I don't want to hear about the "transition to a new position." He's learning to play OLB. It's not like he played ****ing punter at Auburn and we're transitioning him to OLB. At the worst, he lines up in the wrong spot, or overpursues, or gets eaten up by a blocker. This is just pure cluelessness.

I think there's a reason why Hali talked up Josh Martin during training camp: he feels insulted that Dorsey thinks he can replace him with a ****ing chump like Dee Ford.

I'm sorry did you just compare Eric Fisher to Albert?

Look at Eric Fisher in the Alex sucks thread OP gif. He's flying backwards onto his ass with the game on the line. Clutch.

I'm cool with a player needing more than a year to get his feet wet, even if he's a 1st rounder. But if you need to re-learn how to play football, it's a bad use of a draft pick. It just is. Save that shit for the 2nd or 3rd round at the earliest.

It is a big transition and rookies have no time with the new cba rules to adjust. Fisher missed plenty of assignments as a rookie. We just forget because we've moved on. I don't like ford's progress either. But I said the same shit about Fisher last year. He deserves time. Fisher looked like absolute dogshit until the final few games of last season.

No I didn't. Everybody panicked about Fisher starting even though he sucked last year. Fisher hasn't been great but he's been fine. And Fisher improved gradually then quite a bit over the offseason once he got access to coaching. It's what rookies do. They learn and improve.

I noticed this when it happened. I didn't know it was ford. I just saw a guy running away from the playside against the grain and wondered what the hell he was doing.

It looks even worse than I remembered.
