The work BoB has done to wreck that roster is some of the worst I've ever seen. Donald Sterling didn't blow things up this badly. And there's just no clear path forward for them either.

I mean think about this - Will Fuller is a pending FA. They're gonna have to pay that guy $10-12 million/season or watch their WR corps get even worse. And they'll have to cut Cooks (because lord knows they can't pay him $12 million next season and he has zero dead cap money). Randall Cobb has a $12 million cap hit for them next season that they can't get out of. Randall Cobb!!

And they don't have a 1st or 2nd rounder. I mean there's nothing that's going to save that team. They may win 4-5 this year in the softer part of their schedule but that team has a 6 win ceiling for the foreseeable future.

They're a complete mess.

And despite all those problems, they had a 24-0 lead on the Chiefs in a playoff game. That's the crazy thing about the NFL. You can do everything right and get screwed by flukey stuff or injuries, etc.

Knowing what a mess Houston is, that would have been a bitter pill to swallow if KC found a way to lose that game. They dug themselves out of the flukey 24-0 hole in epic fashion, but it was still way too dicey of a situation.

The 2019 Texans had a puncher's chance of winning the whole thing, IMO.

And if Watson were as good as his hype train says he is, they would have. Or at least they wouldn't have managed to yack up that 24 point lead.

At some point Watson has to take some ownership of the fact that at 24-7, the Texans got 8 more drives and put up a whopping 7 points. That's WITH Hopkins on the field. And a healthy Fuller and Kenny Stills. Carlos Hyde is mediocre but was effective for them last season and Duke Johnson is an excellent receiving back who he also had available. Tunsil didn't have his big contract yet so he was getting one of the best pass-blocking LTs in the business to cover his blind side.

He had a LOT going for him in that game and failed. Now this season's a different creature because of the off-season personnel decisions and some injuries, but last season's Texans team was no push-over.

Give Mahomes that same roster and the Texans win a championship. There's little doubt of it in my mind. Even w/ BoB at HC (because again, I think the guys a solid HC, if a shitty GM).

Watson's fortunate that BoB is taking these bullets because Deshaun deserves a few of 'em in his own right.

The defense was kind of a dumpster fire. I think Shanahan's offense would have torched them.

I see your reasonable comments about Watson and provide the only needed rebuttal, “but he’s a winner because he beat Alabama!”

It's funny how fast life comes at you. There was a point 9 months ago where it looked like O'Brien had his team dominating, a couple good quarters away from guaranteeing an AFC championship game in Houston. Facing a Titans team they had already beat when they both played at full strength. Legit chance at a Super Bowl.

Now they're 0-4, team looks like a dismantled train wreck with a bottom 5 offense and defense, and they've traded away their top draft picks.

Imagine how fast the 49ers dline dismantles that O-line. JFC.

I guess in one game anything could happen, buuuuutttttt.....

The 49ers would’ve obliterated the Texans. It would’ve been on par with what the Buccaneers did to the Raiders or what the Seahawks did to the Broncos.

I was thinking about that earlier. From the start of the second quarter of their playoff loss to us they have fallen into the abyss. Literally everything that has happened to them is bad. Poor bastards.

They’re like the South after Pickett’s Charge.

This is before you factor in that he also traded a top 3 WR for the ghost of David Johnson.

Yeah, but he needed to make that trade so he could justify trading a 2nd rounder to take over the contractual disaster that the Rams handed Brandin Cooks. Who caught 0 passes yesterday.

David Johnson is at least contributing. Watch them end up cutting Cooks this off-season lol

A couple of years ago the Rams put together a team for the ages. Marcus Paters, Aqib Talib, Ndamukong Suh, and an offense built around rising superstars Jared Goff and Todd Gurley. I wonder what ever happened to that team.
