Why on earth is Ned letting Mistakeas hit late in the game with two RISP vs a lefty? It's just mind boggling this continues. Of course, Caveman rolls over the ball and grounds to the 1B side. (Have you seen him do that yet this year? About 1,000x so far?) With expanded rosters you put a RH in there at ALL COSTS and try to get those runs home.
It's not just about going from 4-3 to 6-3. It's about keeping Holland in the bullpen resting rather than coming in. |

Traveling for work today after traveling for fun this weekend.
Only caught a few innings of last night's game, but it was interesting. Good start from Ventura, though Yost left him an inning too long (as usual). Peguero has interesting LH power. And he and Willingham at least give them a few weapons off the bench. I'm hoping tonight we get to see Finnegan for the first time. If he can lock in as a strong bullpen guy, I feel a lot better about getting through September. Ned's not going to pull Moustakas against tough lefties late, because he still looks at him likes a developing player (rather than admitting he basically is what he is, most likely, at this point). I'm still scared or Nervous Ned rearing his ugly head this September. Yesterday's lineup had a bit of that feel.

Also, to expand thoughts on Peguero... If he can be a solid platoon player, I like him as a tandem with Willingham next year, if they bring him back. I think you still give Willingham most Of the starts in that situation, but as your DH, with Peguero playing RF against RHP pitchers. On days Salvy DHs, you move Willingham to Rf or give him a day off.

Deal? As in 'not re-sign'? Then yes.
