I've now got quite a few pizza places that advertise with me and the ones who deliver have a mandatory delivery charge, makes me wonder if that affects the tipping.

My older brother made the mistake of trying to deliver pizzas in his ****ing 1996 geo. After neglecting to change the oil after being asked a thousand times, the car couldn't take it. Serves him right, considering he treated the thing like complete and utter shit.

after reading some of youse guys' comments, wow, not only do we love the chiefs, but we love the pizza delivery too!!!
back to topic, guru, if you (or your son) is mechanically inclined, i'd get a beater vehicle. something that you can do your own cheap maintanence that gets decent gas mileage. if the kiddo doesn't have the funds right now, have him wait or even cook until he has the cash. who knows, dude could become the next generation JDIDDY!!!

I guess I'll ask the obvious question - why don't you just tell him you won't pay for repairs if he decides to take the job? You shouldn't be paying for his car repairs to begin with. I had to learn to fix my own stuff, my old man helped with that, but if I had a car I was responsible for keeping it up.

If you have a crappy car, do it, its lots of fun and can make decent spending cash on good nights.
It will destroy a car, not only because of the added miles but because drivers want to shave every minute they can off delivery time to get a better tip. I drove like a maniac, slamming on the breaks, flooring it on green lights, barely slowing down when turning, etc. Also, your car will smell like pizza all the time.

Do not tell your insurance company that your son uses his car to deliver pizzas.
If your son gets in an accident, he wasn't delivering pizzas.

Oh, and we had a lot of guys that kept their roof advertisements on their cars all the time, said they never got pulled over. I never tested the theory though.
