Realistic draft, in terms of where folks go. Not a single unrealistic selection, other than my quibbles with the individual players.
Collins is a fair get in round 1. I reallly, really like Perryman in the 2nd and Hardy in the 3rd. I think it's very possible Shaw goes undrafted, so 7th makes sense there -- although I'd pass on him altogether. Not a huge fan of Hicks, but he's alright. Vigil and Saxton are okay gets. I can't begin to tell you how much I hate Funchess at this point. This draft likely finishes off our OL and patches our ILB need for ten years. But we still emerge with a major holes at WR, and god forbid we have someone go down at CB. |

Josh Shaw in the 7th? Not a chance in hell that happens. The kid is easily a day 2 talent. I'm aware of the baggage that stems from a lie about how he was injured. The police responded to an incident at his apartment complex, which he thought was in relation to him and his girlfriend having a loud argument. He wasn't charged with any crime whatsoever. His crime was lying to the team about how he injured his ankles (jumping from a 2nd floor balcony), and fabricated a story about saving someone. Yes, the act was despicable, but he ended up coming clean openly about it. He's going to slide to end of 3rd, 4th round I'd say, but 7th? No way. He's a legit man cover corner with physicality. Latest I could possibly see him drop is 5th round and that would be me being ultra-conservative. Kids, most of these kids, all have some kind of baggage. They've all done something stupid and most of them have done it at some point in college. Whether or not they got caught, whether or not they lied about it, that may be another story. Fact is, the NFL needs talents like his and they aren't going to wait until round 7 to take a chance on them.
Devin Funchess? God no... seriously. He's a terrible WR that can't block so that makes projecting him to TE terrible. Don't like. The rest, I could live with. Hell, I like most of the rest of them. I'm not high on Day because he can't move worth a shit, but with some work he could be serviceable. |

I don't think many teams care about character so long as the guy shows up for work.
I don't think Shaw is dependable. I'd probably pass. |

I'll say this, if we bite the bullet and grab the lineman we need in the 1st round it really frees us up to get value position players. The only way I wouldn't take a OL in the 1st is if I really wanted a CB, can't wait on them IMO.
