I was listening to sports radio yesterday... do you know the % of players that were signed in FA last year that made the pro bowl for their new teams?

(pause)

There was something like 420 players signed in FA and about 1.8% of them were named to the pro bowl last year. Ok, carry on.

I wouldn't use the pro bowl as an accurate barometer. You can be an impact player for your team and not make the popularity bowl. Nick Foles was a free agent signing that didn't make the pro bowl. He was, however Superbowl MVP. But your stay would indicate that he was a wasted signing because he didn't make the pro bowl.

Im not surprised.

Once they get paid, they dont try as hard.

Big money paid=demovation

The problem with free agency is the amount of money paid does not equate or match the level of productivity on the field for a lot of these players. Happens Lots of times its not even close.

Its so overrated.

There isn’t much maximization of value in FA.

I like the draft better. Draft a young stud who is hungry and has somethig to prove for cheap dollars. Thats maximizing your value in a player.
