So, I've adopted a boxer

Mike Tyson is sleeping on a air mattress in the spare room. I keed.

The little lady being the sweet heart she is volunteered at the local shelter where they take in stray animals. A pure bread boxer was dropped off by a couple who couldn't take care of it anymore for whatever reason. That's a whole other story which pisses me off but that's neither here or there at this point.

I'm a huge fan of German Sheppards, always was and always will be but we had to put down Windsor last month after it was in a tangle with a deer and broke his back. That would be a pretty funny story if it wasn't my dog actually.

Anyone have experience with boxers? She and around 2.5 years old. Fell in love with each other the first time we set eyes. Appreciate any input on how to handle the breed. Kinda playing it by ear and treating it as a Sheppard at this point.

I've heard boxers are perpetual puppies.

I know they need a lot of exercise and you have to watch aggressiveness. Probably not unlike german shepherds.

Tell him to lead with his left.

Buddy of mine had one. Good all around dogs. Mind well. Don't shed much. Just look kinda funny.

They seem a little schizo at times and require a lot of attention.. But if you give them that attention they are awesome, wonderful crazy dogs.

Nice.

I adopted a poodle puppy a few weeks ago. I didn't even know it was a poodle till i googled it lol. My wife found her in the street (no tags, no collar or anything), she managed to run under a moving bus and come out in one piece. My wife didn't wanna call the pound so we took her in. She's been a great dog so far, we've already got her house trained. She looks to be a few months old.

This x 11. Had two boxers - mother and one of her puppies. Smart, energetic, affectionate, 75-lb lap dogs. Perpetual puppies, loyal, great watchdogs, and great around kids. Also travel well.

They don't live long enough. Had to put both of mine down at eleven years (which is longer than normal). Broke my heart for months.

Best - dogs - ever.

Raising my third Boxer now. I love these dogs but they do require some patience. They take about Five years to settle down and get the puppy out of them. All my dogs where great with kids but all dogs are different and I think it makes a difference if the dog is raised with children around.
