Based on what?

Pierre-Louis is no more an NFL linebacker than DJ Alexander is. Neither guy has proven they can play at this level, let alone start. So if they're rotational ILBs, they're little more than special teams players.

And if that's the case, Alexanders the better guy to keep, if for no other reason than his familiarity with the system.

He played on the edge in that Irvin type of position in Seattle. I'd guess he is here to play OLB.

In that case, it makes sense. Gives us a guy while Nicolas tries to come back, potentially lets us move on from Zombo when he does return.
