It's not going to happen. We don't have the talent to be a great D or even good D average is probably realistically the best we can hope for. I'm not saying Sutton is the greatest but he is not being put in a position to succeed with the talent he has this season.
Weren't/Aren't you a big Alex Smith defender?

Are you Bob Sutton's agent? This is the same bullshit that the Chiefs bought into this past offseason with their decision to keep Bob Sutton... that he was a victim of having old/deficient talent on defense.

You are saying that a defense with the likes of Chris Jones, Justin Houston, and Kendall Fuller can't be any better than a 32nd ranked/worst in the NFL-caliber defense?

I agree with the first part but not the second.

It was identified in the game thread we were like a sieve when we dropped 8 by htismaque. Once we tightened up it got better.

If it don't work, don't ****ing keep calling it. It's that simple.

Shouldn't you be on the Redskins board?

I said average is probably the most realistic. We are 32nd ranked for now but it's two-games into the season. Plenty of time for us to improve.

The Steelers are the perfect example of what we’ve been saying about Bob Sutton.

They were a top 10 defense in 2016 and 2017 until Shazier got crippled. In 12 games before he got hurt they gave up 17.7 PPG.

Since Shazier’s injury, they’ve given up 29 PPG in 7 games. You need talent to have success.

Oh and mother**** any of you dumb mother****ers that bitch about Sutton dropping LB’s.

TJ Watt was covering Sammy Watkins multiple times last Sunday.

And promptly was sent to the burn ward after the game.

Your point?

The point is actually pretty simple. All teams end up in these situations based off personnel and play calling. Every single game this happens due to offensive scheming.

The people that don't understand this are probably as smart as the dipshit that claimed LB don't have to cover RB out of the backfield either.

This team has just missed on to many defensive picks and has highly paid guys not playing or underproducing and somehow it's the coordinators fault.

The Chiefs defensive talent level is not great, it's a lot of complimentary pieces without the cornerstones. There is no elite pass rusher anymore, there is no #1 CB so without those types of pieces it's hard to be a great D.

Be real they played 2 of the top 8 offenses in the league, you won't be getting HOF QB's with top offenses week in and week out.

Jones was listed as a full participant on Thursday. Berry and Watts did not practice again.

Pretty much. If Berry or Houston were in the game playing like they had in the past.....this defense would be at least average. If you throw Peters back in this defense.....no one would be complaining when we're smoking teams 42-21.

Basically you factor about 4 things together...Houston turning into a solid player when he was signed to be elite, Eric Berry being a ghost that never plays with the trading away of the only really great defensive draft pick this team ever had really stacked the deck in a bad way...also Dee Fords holding pattern on development and we have a defense that probably should have been top 15 looking like ass...
