Chiefs get a 3rd, a 5th, and 2 6ths as compensation picks...

They can be traded this year...

Guess who's going to trade us picks to move up and grab a QB in a good class.

NOBODY.

Take what you got. If you like a guy REGARDLESS OF HIS SURROUNDING TALENT CLASS, then GO ****ING GET HIM

It's not ****ing hard.

Well it is obvious you don't know shit if that is how you believe. You need to go look at the last couple of drafts.
That list is about about our needs. We need to improve the play we are getting from the RB position and guys like Spiller is not the answer and you will not get one of the better RB as an UDFA. Rounds 5 through 7 generally don't make most teams rosters. They might make practice squads but we need a producer not a player that is just good enough for the practice squad.

Has there ever been a draft class that was good enough?

2018 QB class is looking great in terms of talent AND depth and that's just seniors. A couple of underclassmen could make it phenomenal. Hell, a team picking at 32 could land a QBOTF next year.

I'll bet you, this time next year, 2019's class will be killer too!

Ok. Maybe 5th is a bit extreme. I'll concede on that stance, but I don't feel it should be as dire as some are making it out to be. I think we can find a solid player later in the draft to fill our RB needs.

I took a couple minutes to do something incredibly unscientific but nonetheless illustrative of how talented John Dorsey is as a GM.

I valued this year's 3rd round compensatory picks as 5 points, 4th rounders as 4 points, 5th rounders as 3, 6th rounders as 2, and 7th rounders as 1.

Cleveland gets a better haul than we do, but other than arguably Seattle's, we had the best haul in comp picks this year. I'd love to extrapolate this to the four years Dorsey's been here. Maybe later.

Cleveland (16 points) -- 3rd, 4th, 4th, 5th
Kansas City (12) -- 3rd, 5th, 6th, 6th
Miami (11) -- 3rd, 5th, 5th
Cincinnati (10) -- 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th
Denver (10) -- 3rd, 5th, 7th, 7th
Seattle (10) -- 3rd, 3rd
L.A. Rams (9) -- 3rd, 4th
N.Y. Jets (5) -- 3rd
Pittsburgh (5) -- 3rd
Baltimore (5) -- 3rd
Carolina (5) -- 3rd
Indianapolis (4) -- 4th
San Francisco (4) -- 4th
New England (3) -- 5th
Green Bay (3) -- 5th
Arizona (3) -- 5th

Joke all you want but what he's saying is fairly accurate. If your mission is to obtain a true QBOTF- not just any ****ing JAG- without having to overdraft it's the right decision.

The fact that Mahomes is touted as a first rounder this year is enough to tell you how weak this class is. In a year like next year we wouldn't have to trade up to get our Mahomes.

The class is simply much better next year with guys like Rosen and Darnold coming out. It's unlikely we will get them, but what we will get is the quality of guys that follow those two- someone like Browning.

Whatever is available to us in 2018 will be much better than an Alex Smith 2.0 like Peterman this year.

The last time Dorsey had a major haul in comp picks, we still had a lot of holes to fill, but Dorsey has filled out most of the roster from the last 2 seasons.

I think Dorsey didn't move up last year due to Roger Goodell ****ing us in the ass, but now with 90+% of the roster set, it's time to find the QB and move up if so.

Hopefully Dorsey thinks very highly of someone like Peterman or Webb and snags them in rd 2 while getting an awesome player in rd 1 without giving anything up, said QB becomes a quality player for 10+ years and we are in business.

Hahaha.

First, you have no idea if Darnold will even come out. Rosen has a lot of warts and the kid from Wyoming has a big step to take to be considered a first rounder.

That class is more hype than anything so far.
