Flight/Space Sim flight sticks...

I'm currently considering the:

Saitek x52 Pro
Saitek X56 HOTAS
Thrustmaster VG T.16000M FCS HOTAS (releases Nov 1)

I wish to spend no more than $250 for the set up and will be primarily playing Star Citizen with it. Perhaps some flight sim as well.

I've done a ton of research and will be going with the X52 Pro for ED and SC. I don't have a ton of time to play right now, so I'm going to see if Christmas brings any deals.

Welp... I made a very hard left and didn't buy any of those.

Got the Defender Cobra M5 for $90 shipped. Thing I'm gonna pick up a CH throttle and I'm done. There is the new TWCS by Thrustmaster but I loathe the way that layout looks.

I will... and I found out something very interesting. I can purchase the throttle to the x55 by itself and use it along with the stick of my choice instead of being tied to the awful x55 stick.

Have you read all the negative stuff about all the newer Saitek equipment? The complaints raging across series of sticks with buttons no longer functioning and poor cable management causing catastrophic wear over time.

I would kill for a legit Flight Simulator on PS4.
I still love MSX. I have binders full of approach plates and kneecards/checklists (pre flight, landing, etc) for quite a few common aircraft on the sim.

I have Saitek gear, yoke and throttle, and the radio /electronics switching for a Cesna 72.

That is really cool. My mom works in Flight Safety working with the emualtors. She enjoys them so much she wants me to build a full on simulator in their home.

THAT is gonna be awesome if she has me actually follow through on that.

I think the Saitek gear was pretty reasonable, and modular. so I gradually added stuff.

Saitek has more PC components for flight than any other manufacturer. In fact, Saitek was bought by Logitech, from MadCats, for $13m about 3 weeks ago.

Hopefully Saitek gets a book in QA here shortly.

Why not run flight sim on PC until something new comes out for the PS4? *crossing fingers that the next Ace Combat game isn't a pile of dogshit*

yeah, that's probably what I'll end up doing.
Just build a console, nothing behemoth in terms of power, but something where I could only use it for MSX and it could run very smoothly etc.

that used to by my hobby for a good solid 2 years. I would 'fly' all the time. quite enjoyable actually. then we moved three times, and it just sort of fell by the wayside. we're hoping to move this time next year, and at that point is when I'd like to have a dedicated little space for it.
