East/West Shrine game features interesting prospects for KC

Darren Waller WR/TE Georgia Tech

@MockingTheDraft: Going through Shrine Game measurements. GaTech WR Darren Waller is officially 6'6 5/8, 242 pounds. Scary.

Expected to run in the 4.5 range.
Projected like a Devin Funchess hybrid. GT always has a physical freak every so often (Megatron/DT). Would be a very nice fit in rd 4. Easily has the frame to put on another 10-15 lbs.

Wes Saxton TE South Alabama

Another good TE prospect. Has good speed at 4.7 and has the frame to get bigger. He's a very willing blocker who puts the effort in. This would be a great mid round pick IMO.

@JoshNorris: Move TE Wes Saxton: 6'3 7/8. 243 lbs. 9" hands. 32" arms.
(Via @OptimumScouting)

He was also a baller as a receiver. Nobody (Jake Ryan included) could cover him.

@Steveospeak: TE Wes Saxton is a match-up nightmare there wasn't a LB who could cover him well in this group in 1-on-1's.

Xavier Williams DT Northern Iowa

@JaredStanger: DT Xavier Williams came in at 6'2"/325 with very good 33 4/8" arm length.

This young man is a homegrown talent. Grandview high school here in KC. He's got the size, length and solid quickness.
Check this out: 11.5 sacks the last 2 seasons and he set a record for blocked kicks in a season with FIVE.
This guy looks like this years Brandon Williams.

You all know about big name guys there, so let's talk about some quality sleepers.

Tyeler Davison DT Fresno St

6'2" 309 lbs. Great technique. Solid swim move. Rd 3 prospect with the size and strength to be a rotating 3-4 DE. 3 straight games with a sack this year. Very underrated.

Chucky Hunter DT TCU

@FBallGameplan: #ShrineGame West Notes: #TCU's Chucky Hunter's speed & quickness is evident. @geneclemons & I think at 3T & 4i, he'd be best

He's been mentioned, but watching him really makes me want him here. 6'1" 305 lbs with stout run stuffing abilities combined with underrated quickness to penetrate.
7 TFL his last 2 games this year.
Very nice mid rd rotating DE.

Damn. This is a very deep class for DL and pass rushers.

TCU's Tayo Fabuluje is another one to watch. He played LT for TCU. He is huge (6'6" and 360). He'll probably be a RT in the NFL.

No idea of where he projects.

Reflective of the depth of the 2015 Draft, the East West Shrine game has some really good talent this year.

Guys who should be of interest for the Chiefs IMO:

East roster:

OL John Miller, Louisville
Quote:
- The scoop: "I really like his power a lot. He's not going to be dynamic outside of his box, but he's got really noticeable power, and that keeps you in the league a long time." -- AFC scout on Louisville guard John Miller

The skinny: He won't make sense for teams that like to run stretch plays and get their offensive linemen in space, but Miller flashed plenty of power in his hands and an ability to sit down and anchor against pass rushers in one-on-one drills throughout the morning session.
Quote:
Miller was particularly impressive at guard as he is an aggressive player who can create movement in the run game.
OL Jamon Brown, Louisville
OL Jon Feliciano, Miami
TE Wes Saxon, South Alabama
WR Tre McBride, William & Mary
LB Jake Ryan, Michigan

West Roster:

All of the West Linebackers (I'm still trying to figure out how in the hell the Shrine game ended up with these guys - all of whom should be in the Senior Bowl, and, apparently, all have been having a terrific week of practice with Vigil, Jones and Heeney being mentioned a lot in the practice reports.)

LB Zach Vigil, Utah State
-
Quote:
Utah State’s Zachary Vigil really flashed with his ability to fill versus the run all week. He trusts his instincts and comes downhill quick, fast and in a hurry.
LB Taiwan Jones, Michigan State
-
Quote:
His physical presence stood out on the practice field, laying the lumber on several occasions and drawing "oohs" and "ahs" from the crowd. Jones will struggle at times with his feel in coverage, but he displayed better than expected range to complement his pursuit speed to both sidelines.
LB Ben Heeney, Kansas
LB Tony Washington, Oregon
LB A.J. Tarpley, Stanford
OL B.J. Finney, Kansas State

As well, there are two Canadian prospects that have received positive attention this week:

LB Edmund Robinson, Newberry
DT Daryl Waud, Western Ontario

My three favorite players for the Chiefs in this game are OL John Miller, LB Zach Vigil and LB Taiwan Jones.

The GT guy the Chiefs should look at is the other WR, Deandre Smelter. He's actually really productive and is also a complete physical specimen.

Blew his knee out in the last game of the season, but he's a real beast.

Id love to have Smelter, Raw guy. I made a post about him somewhere in the WR thread. Havent watched waller yet, is he any good? Crazy how they keep pumping out 6'3 220+ 4.5 minimum Wr's and they dont even use them.

It looks like it's on the NFL Network.

It's a pretty stacked roster with a lot of potential NFL level guys. Apparently, the practices have been really, really good with talent flashing all over the place.

First half impressions:

John Miller is the same guy I saw during the season. This guy can ****ing play. Head on a swivel, incredible power...legit.

DE Ladarius Smith of Kentucky has brought constant pressure. Looks really good.

The center from Kansas State, Finney, is very solid.
