Won 7 of 8. 2nd best record in the NL. 3rd best in all of baseball. Pitching is lights out sub 2.00 era even with Lackey's failure to cover 1B costing them 4 runs yesterday.

This team is looking strong. A Pitcher goes down, we got more to step in. Same as last year, Yadi is the one player we can't lose.

I stay out of here because I hate you guys, but I'm seeing a lot of support from STL for the Royals and what they are going through. I appreciate that. Let's hope the I70 series is a good clean series. If the Cards are the class organization their fans think they are, it should be a quiet series.

Should have just stayed out. Three words of something positive surrounded by back-handed comments and shit stirring.

Really not trying to be insulting. I guess I can see how it could've been taken that way, but no intent there. I really am hoping for, and expect a clean I70 series. We may be rivals, but its never been dirty.

Nothing insulting with what you said but we are not Rivals. I've never met a Cardinals fan in my entire life that considers the Royals rivals.

I rooted for you guys because a lot of my friends are Royals fans. You guys deserve to root for a winner.

He needs to be moved down in the lineup and take advantage of that bat. But, I get it. It's working, don't **** with it.

I'll basically paraphrase what Ryen Rusillo said today:

"Unless you're a Royals fan you can clearly see who is at fault here."

I'm going to stay out of your Royals threads, because, TBH, your team has a bunch of punk bitches on it, and the majority of your fans can't see them for what they are because of the jersey they wear.

They remind me of another team in blue with a bunch of half-cocked, douche assholes.

When it keeps happening against different teams, an objective analyst can pretty easily find the common denominator.

I don't think the Lawrie dust up was the Royals fault at all. They hit Cain after things were even steven. They had to retaliate. Now, the head hunting or threatening head hunting. Thats the line that was crossed.

Yesterday, there was no need to get mouthy with the batter. You just owned him. Let your play do the talking.

I understand standing up for yourself's. We are not going away or rolling over for anyone. But, at some point you just have to let your play on the field do the talking.

Does anyone else think the Lester signing is gonna bite the Cubs? Watching them right now vs. The Reds, Hamilton gets on, an promptly steals with NO effort to hold him or throw him out.
Cards may have exposed him, much like the Royals did at the end of last season. If he blows up in their face, then they're in big trouble. Their staff isn't good enough to pick up the slack, and Epstein admits the org has no pitching on the way.

It may be a bad signing, but it won't cripple them because they have gobs and gobs of money. That's the advantage of that market and the advantage Epstein has always had--he's never had to own his failures the way middle market teams have. They'll just keep buying SPs until they find one.

He signed a lot of god awful, overpriced FAs in Boston and it didn't matter because they just ate the money on the bad deals and kept on moving.

Also, Lester has always struck me as a paycheck player. I'm not surprised that one of the Chicken and Beer trio (ironically we have another, but he's playing for a contract this year) has come out uninspired after signing a fat deal.
