Okay, how full has your life been according to this list?

Look at this article and let me know what you think in the forthcoming poll. My answers are below.

http://www.businessinsider.com/thing...30-2014-6?op=1

Things I did before age 30

Travel somewhere TRULY exotic — anywhere that feels like the end of the earth - Nepal and India at age 26, and let me tell you, it was exotic and felt like the end of the earth.

Grab the microphone and perform at a karaoke bar, even if you have stage fright. - I was forced to do this by peer pressure with a bunch of Koreans in Seoul, South Korea at the age of 29.

Learn to speak a new language. I took courses in Russian and Japanese and French in my 20s, just for grins. Not that I can speak any of them now.

Spend a night camping under the stars. See the reference to Nepal above. I do this very seldom, but I've done it.

Join an intramural sports team, even if you’re not an athlete. Yeah, lots. I'm the guy who made other guys look good.

Apply for your dream job — there's no better time to try. I think every job I've ever had was a dream job when I applied for it.

Take a class that’s totally out of your element, like improv, golf, or pottery-making. - This was basically all I did before age 30.

Get lost in a foreign country. This happens a lot. I've been lost in a lot of bizarre places over the years.

Unplug for a full day...or even a full week if you're feeling zen. - See above.

Things I did after age 30

Run a half marathon - I think I've done 62 now.

Cook a huge meal and throw a dinner party for friends - I've done this a few times, but never before 30. Prior to 30, my friends pretty much just ordered pizza.

Climb a mountain (it doesn’t have to be Mt. Everest). - I live in Colorado. You kind of have to do this or people make fun of you.

Travel somewhere all by yourself. I do this a lot these days. I don't think I did it before age 30, though, other than tame business travel inside the U.S.

Splurge on an item that you technically can't afford, but that will last for years. - I may have done this a little before age 30, but I've done it more after age 30. However, I wrinkle my nose at "can't afford". I've bought expensive stuff, sometimes far more than I should, but not something that was so outlandish that I "couldn't afford" it.

Sign up to be a mentor, or spend some time volunteering. - I've done some volunteer work in the past couple of decades.

Take a cross-country road trip. (Remember: it doesn’t have to be across the U.S.) - Yep, but not before age 30 unless you count my parents' vacations when I was a tot.

Things I haven't done yet, but want to do

Go skinny dipping - I want to do this, but I don't think society wants me to do this. Also, I don't go into water over waist deep.

Splurge on a once-in-a-lifetime meal at one of the world’s best restaurants. - I wouldn't mind this and I've eaten at some very nice restaurants, but frankly I'm just as happy having a burger or barbecue. It's a low priority to go to a world-class restaurant.

Test drive your dream car. - I've got a nice car. Would I like to take a spin in a 1988 white on white Anniversary Lamborghini Countach? Yeah.

Watch a meteor shower - I think I've tried to do this, but didn't have the patience after sitting there for ten minutes and went inside.

Attend a major sports event, whether it's the Superbowl, World Cup, or World Series. - A Super Bowl would be kind of cool. I've attended games at Arrowhead back when football was a real sport, so I could almost count that.

Things I haven't done yet and don't want to do

Buy tickets to a music festival and rage with the best of them - I guess I could go, but I have no strong desire to do this. I'd get sunburned and wouldn't know half the bands.

Stay up all night partying in a big city like Los Angeles, Tokyo, or London - Why would you do this when you could go to bed at a sensible hour and visit museums the next day?

Go bungee jumping or skydiving — really, anything that involves heights and massive amounts of adrenaline. - I did parasailing once in my 30s, but I don't think that counts. And hell no, I'm not skydiving or bungee jumping.

Throw yourself a huge birthday party. - I'm uncomfortable being the center of attention.

Learn to bartend. - Borrrrring.

Go scuba diving — or at least try snorkeling. - 100% of drownings occur in water. No way.

Eat something that makes you squirm - Unless you count my first time with sushi, I don't think I've really done this and see no need to do so.

Go whitewater rafting. - See scuba diving above. I'm not ready to die.

Sign up for a summer share at a beach house, ski house, or lake house. - Share a house? With strangers? Why would I want to do that?

Perhaps you can include it in the bungee jumping category.

Only a douche bag would write that this is "must do"
Yea! Look at me! I'm in a really big city! And I'm staying up late and partying!

I never had a significant amount of disposable income until I got into my 40s, so that eliminates a lot of that stuff. And most of the things that don't cost money aren't things I was ever interested in doing. Heck for that matter many of the things that do cost money are things I'm not really interested in doing, like traveling to a foreign country, there are plenty of places in the US I'd rather visit. **** foreign countries, and their languages too.

I read the party in a big city as "experience the night life in a world class big city"

Like London, NYC, LA, Berlin, Paris...etc

Somewhere like with a subway, that you can ride drunk and go from a heavy metal dive bar and start drinking , then get bored and jump on a subway to go get Greek food served by midgets then get back on the subway and go to China town for desert. Served by clowns.... At 3AM..then get back on the train and head to a furry club rave near the pier.

There's something about the energy of a REALLY big city, subway, and party scene that's a little different ..

Maybe I'm over thinking it....but like the possibility of going to Broadway shows, huge clubs, crazy niche restraunts and places that probably wouldn't survive in a population less than several million.
