2014-2015 NHL Offseason/Regular Season Thread
Free Agency starts today. I'm probably the worst candidate to keep up an OP with player movement and the like, but figured it would be cool to have a repository for all things NHL leading up to next season.

Anaheim acquires Kesler from Canucks for Bonino, Sbisa, and picks.

-Dallas acquires Spezza from Montreal for Chiasson, others, and a 2nd round pick.
-Avs acquire Briere for Parenteau and a late pick.
-Predators acquire James Neal for Spaling and Hornqvist.
-Marian Gaborik re-signs with Kings.
-Ryan Miller to Canucks via UFA.
-Paul Stastny to the Blues via UFA.
-Jarome Iginla to the Avs via UFA.
-Dan Boyle to the NYR.
-Brad Richards to the Blackhawks.
-Vanek to the Minnesota Wild.
-Robidas to the Maple Leafs.
-Niskanen to the Caps via UFA.

Feel free to add other moves and I'll do my best to update.

The defending Stanley Cup Champions will likely miss the playoffs. They're down 2 goals going to the 3rd. Even if they pull out a win, they'll need help.

Props to Calgary. Even after Giordano went down, they have been balls out every night and are playing their asses off.

It's nice to see some new teams, but at the same time, teams like the Bruins and Kings are built for the playoffs and it's great to watch teams that understand how to win this time of year (well, maybe not tonight, but still....). I'd take them every time over teams like the Pens and Ducks... every time I've watched the Ducks this year I've though first round loss, but maybe it's just me.

Kesler will make a big difference for the Ducks. I don't know, the Central division really racked up the points this year. Some great teams, there.

But from what I've seen, it's still Chicago's conference to lose.

Good for the Flames and Jets. That Calgary/Vancouver series is going to be awesome.

Now, let's see how the Penguins shit all over themselves these next two days. The Islander game is just gravy............but if the Penguins can't get two points from the Sabres with everything to play for against an organization begging to lose games, then just napalm the entire cluster**** this offseason in preparation for 2015-16.
