2014-2015 NHL Offseason/Regular Season Thread
Free Agency starts today. I'm probably the worst candidate to keep up an OP with player movement and the like, but figured it would be cool to have a repository for all things NHL leading up to next season.

Anaheim acquires Kesler from Canucks for Bonino, Sbisa, and picks.

-Dallas acquires Spezza from Montreal for Chiasson, others, and a 2nd round pick.
-Avs acquire Briere for Parenteau and a late pick.
-Predators acquire James Neal for Spaling and Hornqvist.
-Marian Gaborik re-signs with Kings.
-Ryan Miller to Canucks via UFA.
-Paul Stastny to the Blues via UFA.
-Jarome Iginla to the Avs via UFA.
-Dan Boyle to the NYR.
-Brad Richards to the Blackhawks.
-Vanek to the Minnesota Wild.
-Robidas to the Maple Leafs.
-Niskanen to the Caps via UFA.

Feel free to add other moves and I'll do my best to update.

Out of curiosity, how are you guys feeling about Stastny at this point? Everything you hoped he'd be? Disappointing? Somewhere in the middle?

The missed trip/hook on Statsny in the 3rd was lovely. So was the missed high stick on Backes.

But of course Backes will probably get one game for popping Stuart when the guy palmed the puck pretty much right in the crease or something.

Big win by the Jets last night. Some questionable officiating for sure but I'll take the two points. Thanks to the Oilers for knocking off the Kings. If the Jets can beat Colorado or Calgary we are in the playoffs for the first time in forever!!!!

That covers a lot of it. The pisser about the Oshie double minor is that he was tackled just a few seconds before that and there was no call, and of course that his stick was nowhere near Stuart's head on the play in question.

Winnipeg basically could do whatever they wanted, and the Blues spent time in the box on phantom calls.

At least the Hawks and Preds lost, but those two points would have been even bigger for us.

Somewhere in the middle, but a lot of that is due to him missing time early in the season.

Pretty pleased with his performance over the last month+ especially, and as someone said earlier, the depth he provides helps a ton. Deepest group of forwards we've had in a long time.

Getting Steen and Tarasenko back is going to be like making a blockbuster trade.

While NBC does a pretty good job with the NHL, I kind of wish ESPN had the NHL and NBC have the NBA back. For whatever reason I miss Gary Thorne doing hockey games on ESPN.
