Per 810: Chiefs tried to trade back up into 1st round

And they are looking to move up in the 2nd.

They think Dalvin Cook is the target.

He's gone brother.

Would love to have any of Cook, Mixon, Cunningham, or even Cam Robinson.

And I would love, love either Cook or Kamara, but we kind of need to get a pass rusher, don't we? I think Pittsburgh ****ed us (yet again) by taking TJ Watt.

Tim Williams is still on the board and he's a nasty pass rusher, though undersized.

I'd be shocked if Dorsey attempted to jump back in for a RB. The Chiefs can find a complimentary or even an eventual stater late in this draft.

My best guess is Cornerback, specifically, Kevin King from Washington. 6'3, 200 pounds.

Keenan Allen shredded Marcus Peters last year. While Steven Nelson is a fine inside corner, he was destroyed by 6'5 Mike Evans when Peters was injured.

With 6'4 Mike Williams going to the Chargers, the Chiefs need another CB, especially a CB with some size.

Agreed. That said, this brings up the age old question of what makes a defense - pass defenders or pass rushers? We have Houston, Ford, and Hali. Houston may or may not be healed up to start the year, Hali is barely running on fumes and probably ought to retire, and they declined the option on Ford's fifth year. Knowing all of that, which way should they go?

And welcome back.

That's what I think. If Dorsey was trying to get back into the 1st, I think it was because Foster was still available so late.

We need another stud CB. If Peters ever gets hurt and misses significant time, we're screwed.

Thanks, Dude! I think both positions are in need but IMO, CB is more important.

If Houston is healthy, I think he should move to the ROLB, with Ford at LOLB. Hali, Nicolas and a draftee can rotate but it's pretty clear that Ford's best position is LOLB and smart teams put their players in the best position to win.

The Chiefs won 12 last year without the benefit of dual pas rushers for most of the season but the defense really changed with the addition of Mitchell at the end of the season. If he's a pumpkin, I'd like a guy ready to step in and if he's not, there's nothing wrong with excellent CB depth.
