Geoff Schwartz released by the Giants...

Hmm....

Gotta think we might make a stab at this one.

interesting

initial lineup?

Fisher,Morse,Fulton,Reid,LDT

utility backup - Pughsley
backup center - MUNYER (don't know if he is any good, Morse would be primary backup anyway)
sign a backup swing tackle in FA
Draft a RT

Fulton/Reid were clearly better at center/RG imo. They made mistakes but that was in large part because they weren't used to working together at new positions. The both benefited by being inside which help cover up there weakness at lateral movement.

Oline has a lot of strength like that, which helps the power running game with West/Ware. Although Andy Reid might stop using it now that Charles is back.

I don't think they'll move on from Grubbs and I think morse is the center of the future, injuries aside.

Grubbs has had two sub standard seasons in a row. He's 33 years old his cap number is exorbitant in relation to his performance.

It would be a major mistake to put Morse at center, IMO.

Actually, awful.

If the Chiefs can add another playmaker at WR, whether in the draft, Free Agency or the improvement of Conley, along with an even average right tackle, this team will be dangerous offensively, with Andy Reid's warts and all.
I wouldn't take much out of that most head coaches if they get a lead go conservative and Andy is one of them. This could explain the bolded.

It will be interesting to see what they do at RT.

Do they keep Reid there and try to continue to progress him in the system, draft a high level rookie or spend the money on a free agent? Do they resign Allen or Stephenson for the position?

Andre Smith, Mitchell Schwartz or Bobby Massie look to be the best of the bunch and all three will end up costing a bit this free agency.

IMO, the best solution would probably draft a guy high, get the best potential RT you think you could as early as you could and try to progress him as quickly as possible using Reid there until he's ready (sooner rather than later).

Shame we didn't get Havenstein last year. I saw he didn't give up a single sack all season.

Interestingly enough, Tyler Marz, Havenstein's Badger teammate who was a three year starter at left tackle while Rob was at RT, is being thought of as a late round selection. Havenstein was drafted in the second round last year - which everyone thought was way too high.

Pretty similar players actually, and I think that Marz is a better player (or at least he was at the same stage).

Evidently Dorsey thought it was more than a swing, he gave Grubbs a new contract before taking a single snap.

That's enough for King, if he sees 2 names in the same post its a comparison.

No need to bother reading any of those pesky words in-between

Morse, with his intelligence and athleticism, was playing at a near all pro level at center as a rookie.

They drafted him to play center and he excelled at it. I'm not sure why you'd move him from there, unless you can get an upgrade which isn't likely.

He was unlucky to get 2 concussions, which is worrisome, but iirc, one was while he was out front on a screen, so I'm not sure how much of it is technique
