The only bottle I've been able to get my hands on was two years after I had put my name on a list, and someone didn't claim theirs.

Northeast hipsters have discovered Pappy now, too. It was always hard to get, but now it is next to impossible. Frustrating.

I was at a high end liquor store earlier today to pick up a bottle of Black Maple Hill, and I hear this woman ask one of the employees, "I'm looking for a bottle of bourbon for a gift, and I was told Pappy Van Winkle 20 year is a great choice. I'll take a bottle."

The employee was able to stifle his laugh, I wasn't.

He very nicely told her that Pappy was extremely hard to get, and suggested a bottle of Colonel E.H. Taylor Barrel Proof if she wanted something rare.
