Mychal Kendricks (ILB - Eagles) being shopped?

On my phone, so no link. Seems there's some smoke in Philly about him being available for the right price.

If the Chip Kelly experiment doesn't work out, it will be one of the all time worst coaching hires IMO. Its one thing to lose, but to lose and get rid of literally all your stars? That's unforgivable.

Would be a good get, but I'm only interested if you can lock him up long term. Not interested in giving up compensation for a rental.

And while Fisher should be improved, there is no guarantee he will be.

The fact is, this line has as much potential to be worse this year as it does to be better.
Worse? No ****ing way.

Sure, we don't really know anything about Kush, yet. But No McGlynn means this line has to be better.

It's hard to believe the line would be worse, but I get his point. No one knows, and at this point, anyone who claims definitively that they'll be better is just wearing red and yellow glasses.

There are a ton of changes to the line. There are no guarantees things will be better.

Grubbs will be a definite upgrade, taking a weakness into at least above-average. But there are no guarantees about that RT position.

To me it's like getting rid of Kendrick Lewis. The second he was gone, the D was automatically better.

People think this line was bad due to McGlynn alone.

He was one of several reasons, but far from the only one. Lots of changes mean a loot of question marks.

Nor about the center position.

McGlynn was just the weakest link in a weak fence.

The only link that wasn't weak is gone.

No doubt, but upgrading even one position SHOULD make an improvement. Whether that is how it translates to the field remains to be seen.

Kendricks would be a great upgrade. I just don't see Chip trading with Andy.

There are two changes to the line. One of them is a shitmassive upgrade (McGlynn -> Grubbs) and one of them is a near certain downgrade. How large of a downgrade it is we don't know.

Everything else is basically as it was last year. Barring injury, it's really silly to look at the increased competition as well as the fact that all of the players from last year were all really young guys on their first contracts and just say, "Well, we don't know if those players will regress. They might."

Like shit they will. How often does something like that happen? Rarely.

We'll be slightly improved with a small chance of being greatly improved at LT, RG, and RT from just the guys on our roster. It's a near certain outcome that we'll be greatly improved at LG. I really don't think that Eric Kush is enough to tank us to the point of the line being worse than it was last year.

Jeff Allen regressed from year 1 to year 2.
Jon Asamoah regressed from year 1 to year 2.

But we aren't talking about regression.
We are talking about players that haven't shown any progress, except Kush, who we know jack about.
