And the ' and enjoy the movie' was in response to your continued strident insistence on micro-analyzing every aspect of the tedious shitstorm surrounding what will probably be a shitty forgettable movie.

I said repeatedly that most 'naysayers' are merely rolling their eyes at the perverse marketing by playing gender politics and name calling critics.

Enjoy the movie or don't, just stop focusing on this like it's MLKJ's I have a dream speech or the Gettysburg address.

This is pretty weird. You attacked me before I brought up an 'echo chamber' but now that's your only defense? I never accused you of anything. I originally commented in this thread because it was already full of really awful takes and I thought I'd weigh in. (Terrible idea, I know) You reasonably countered some of my points and I conceded that. I made a couple points of my own and you nonsensically blasted me. My echo chamber comment was simply highlighting the fact that all I did was buck the trend of blind hate and what it got me was baseless flaming from you. I didn't attack you, I just asked to to shut up and enjoy the movie if you plan to.

It was a general expression of boredom with manufactured outrage and conflict, not an attack.

And I apologize if I misread your initial reply. Here you seem to indicate that the thread as a whole, perhaps all of the internet, was the echo chamber of shitty takes you were referring to. It seemed to me at the time that you were accusing me of erecting an echo chamber of my own [without detailing how] in lieu of criticizing me directly. Still don't give a shit about the movie, really. Just detest the vitriol based on media hype and fan boy butthurt. I do, however think that it's bullshit to act above the fray when you can't stop posting on a thread about some sci-fi comedy reboot.

Fair enough. And to be honest, I probably won't enjoy the movie. I'm a pretty big fanboy hater myself. I just prefer to know what I'm hating on.

Far too often female comedians and female-led comedies are unfairly shit on, but Melissa McCarthy is an absolute hack. Her entire schtick is based around people's desire to make fun of obnoxious fat people.
