SEC Network schedule release:

14 Schools in 14 Days

Charlotte, N.C. -- SEC Network, a new sports network devoted to the Southeastern Conference and operated by ESPN, will debut nationwide on August 14 at 6 p.m. ET with a three-hour SEC Now that will visit every SEC school and the 21 sports within the SEC. The following 14 days will feature an array of events and specials, including customized programming to feature 14 schools in 14 days with team previews, greatest games and SEC features leading into the network's first college football game on Thursday, Aug. 28, Texas A&M at South Carolina.

In addition to expansive college football programming to kick off the season, the network will also showcase its commitment to elevating sports across the conference with both men's basketball and women's soccer events airing on the television channel and 15 soccer matches being carried live as SEC Network + events on SECNetwork.com and WatchESPN.

SEC Network will begin a regular slate of studio shows and fall programming following Thursday, Aug 28.

Highlights of 14 Schools in 14 Days:
• SEC Team Previews - every SEC team will have its own 30-minute college football preview show with analysts Greg McElory and Booger McFarland breaking down the team's potential for the 2014 season
• "Best of" games: each school, over 14 days, will have a marathon of great games from the last 5-10 years
• All-Access: four 30-minute specials taking viewers inside preseason practices throughout the conference as teams prepare for the 2014 season
• SEC Football BCS National Championships - the SEC won nine BCS National Championships, including seven consecutive titles between 2007 and 2013. On Saturday, Aug. 16 SEC Network will air an 18-hour marathon of SEC BCS National Championship wins
• SEC & The Heisman - on Sunday, Aug. 17 viewers have the chance to relive SEC games featuring standout performances from SEC Heisman winners; The games will be followed by a one-hour special with the SEC greats who have taken home the most prestigious trophy in college sports and an SEC Rewind game from 1980 featuring two Heisman trophy winners - Georgia's Herschel Walker and South Carolina's George Rogers
• SEC Storied - an ESPN film series from the creators of the Peabody and Emmy Award-winning 30 for 30 series, focusing on the people, teams, moments and events that tell the ongoing story of the SEC
• Men's Basketball - three games from the Kentucky Men's Basketball Big Blue Bahamas Tour will air live on SEC Network August 15-17 at 1 p.m.

8 losses: their opponents finished SEC play 52-13 (80%).


In 17 games they have beaten one team with a winning record, Georgia at 5-3. If you strip out the MU games from the above data, it's still 34% & 77% respectively or no difference. Football powerhouse.

The SEC Network is set to launch this week, making more SEC content than ever before available to viewers through televised and digital platforms. Here's what you need to know now that the network's launch date is almost here:

What is it?

The SEC Network is a channel dedicated to SEC sports 24/7, including live coverage of all of the SEC's 21 annual sports, studio shows and other original content. It is based in Charlotte and owned and operated by ESPN, with content licensed by the SEC.

When does it launch?

The network will begin broadcasting on Aug. 14 at 5 p.m. Central. Its first program will be "SEC Now," a studio show similar to ESPN's SportsCenter, but focused on the SEC.

Where can I find it?

The list of providers who have reached agreements to carry the network now includes Comcast, Time Warner and Bright House Networks, Dish Network, DirecTV, Charter, Cox Communications, AT&T U-Verse, Google Fibers and other smaller providers, making it available in about 90 million homes around the country. Contact your local provider to find out if it is included in your specific package and where it will located on the dial.

How many football games will it televise?

The network is set to televise 45 SEC football games in its first season, beginning with an Aug. 28 doubleheader featuring Texas A&M-South Carolina and Vanderbilt-Temple. It will broadcast three games each Saturday, along with its "SEC Nation" pre-game show, and will feature at least one game involving each of the conference's 14 programs within the first four weeks of the season. Auburn's opener against Arkansas will be televised on the network on Aug. 30, as well as Alabama's matchup with Florida Atlantic on Sept. 6.

How many games in other sports will be covered?

In addition to football, the network this year will broadcast 100 men's basketball games, 60 women's basketball games, 75 baseball games, 50 softball games and additional events from other sports.

Will I be able to access SEC Network content digitally or through mobile devices?

Yes. Along with televised events, the network plans to air more than 550 events digitally this year. Digital content can be viewed through SECNetwork.com and on iOS and Android devices through participating providers through WatchESPN.

What other types of programming will be featured on the network?

Aside from game coverage and SEC Now, planned shows include an "SEC in 60" recap show, a film room segment featuring analysis from an SEC coach, "SEC Rewind" features on past games, and the "SEC Storied" documentary series, including a piece on former Auburn greats Bo Jackson, Charles Barkley and Frank Thomas.

Who will be the on-air personalities?

A mix of existing ESPN commentators and newly signed analysts will be featured on the network, including Brent Musberger, Joe Tessitore, Jesse Palmer, Greg McElroy, Tim Tebow, Marcus Spears, Paul Finebaum, Maria Taylor, Booger McFarland, Matt Stinchcomb, Tony Barnhart and Dari Nowkhah.

What should I do if my cable or satellite provider doesn't carry the network?

Call your cable, satellite or telecommunications provider and ask for it or go to GetSECNetwork.com. Two major providers the network with which the network is still negotiating are Mediacom and Verizon FIOS.
