I don't think 11-5 is 11-5 when you so much as peel back one layer of that onion. And while purinst will argue that is 11-5 is 11-5 no matter how you slice it, so too is:

1) Giving up 28 point in less than 30 minutes.
2) Giving up 21 of those 28 points in drives that totaled ~5 minutes of game time.
3) This trend of epic fail is an epic trend.
4) The organization thinks many fans are dumb enough to fall for the "but we were 11-5" (with a very easy first half schedule), and lose focus on what happened/happens against Indy and good teams.
5) And before we heard it, I think many of us knew Sutton wouldn't suffer a public execution for leading that band of idiot cowards who, as a unit, are amongst the highest paid defensive units in the game.
6) We knew the team would react by leaving town instead of facing the fans (so typical!!).

So yes, our record was 11-5, but I think everybody knows that this franchise won't do that again next year. And when they don't, THEN we'll hear about how tough the schedule was (when they'll never admit that this year's was easy), we'll hear about injuries, concussions, even starving kids in Hollywood, and everything but what matters.

It's not ONE thing, it's 44 years of no SB, 20 years of no playoff victory, and 8 straight one-and-dones in those 20 years that bothers people.

And they know "the franchise"... This franchise is owned by a non-resident clown who, if he cares about winning, comes from a family that has proven in the past that it didn't matter above profit. So Clark may care, only he knows that, but he's just the titular head of a family that very well might not. So watching him sit on his hands after that ending "playing the part of the cool level-headed guy" should lead nobody to believe that "year-2" is going to make ANY difference. And most of us the the line-up of excuses being documented already:

1) We had a much tougher schedule in 2014.
2) We had to swap-out most of the D because THE bundle of sticksS FROM 2013 WERE ALL GAY!
3) We were focused on the starving kids in Hollywood.
4) January of 2013 was cold!
5) And best of all, "we just didn't get it done." The ultimate get out of jail free card.

So if 11-5 is supposed to mean something, it only means something to somebody who doesn't know the franchises history (that sets the tone for the organization), and they didn't bother to look at the franchise and realize that there's a LOT to fix, and the chefs in THAT kitchen get to try to do it with FAs in the league who are all to willing to opt-out of KC (because of the franchise's history)...

Just my $.02 on why I think THAT straw just happens to be the one that broke the camel's back.

Good points all, but I hope Reid & Co REALLY understand point #4 at the top. They have turned the corner but they can U Turn quickly if upgrades aren't made. The Chiefs have been in this spot before and failed to do what's necessary more times than not. Lets hope they do the right thing this time around.

it's been a steady decline for me...2008...2011/2012... and now this.

sure, I'll still watch. But I will never, ever pay the money that I used to pay for NFL product.

And I will never, ever allow myself to care the way I used to care. It's over, the dream is over. **** THE NFL. I will never be emotionally invested in a football team or game ever again.

it's just a good TV show, that's all. It's not 'special', it's just entertainment.

The not getting emotionally attached anymore part is spot-on... That being said, I agree, I'll watch, I'll hope, if I'm able to, but I won't rearrange anything (like baseball practice) around Chiefs games. If the cages are available, the baseball team is there and I'm NOT at Arrowhead. And, if the tickets are CHEAP ($15), I might even go. I'll decide if a tailgate is worth the $27 (or whatever it'll be), or if I just want to park across the street and NOT put money into the franchise's pocket (even if the city gets some of it).

But yeah, the lack of attachment until it matters again is what this organization better fear. I'm sure some will stay die-hard and spend the money (if I had tickets that take a generation to get, I'd certainly weigh-out my options!), and that's fine. But I gave up my season tickets years ago and have really enjoyed the cash saved, and the moving around (different seats in the stadium) hasn't been bad at all. In fact, shaded south-side tickets in the summer and sunny north-side tickets in the winter is kind of nice. But the fear of not being able to get into a game left a LONG time ago. All that's left now if the price and the guarantee. I don't care about the guarantee, and because of that the price has been awesome!

But I'm not getting any ticket the didn't sell to somebody else at some other price, but I know by the time I get them I feel better because of what I paid compared to what's on the ticket.

Whoever this poster is, he's completely taken over Chiefs Planet like Luck did the second half vs the Chumps.
