I will smoke when I'm drinking socially with others, but that happens so rarely now that I'm married with small children.

I have not taken so much as even a puff off a cigarette.
I find them utterly disgusting in smell and just never had the slightest urge, even when drinking and my friends would light up. |

If you're going to quit smoking, you truly have to want to quit. Otherwise you never will.

The only thing that worked for me was Chantix, and it made it easy. Started taking it but kept smoking, then about a week later I just didn't want a cigarette anymore. No craving, and no satisfaction from smoking. I just put them down and never wanted one again, after years of failed attempts at quitting.

I was mildly surprised by the chart in the OP in lack of decline since the 90s. Probably the smoking bans in bars made it seem like it dropped more.

My parents and most of my family smoked when I was growing up and I found it disgusting on all levels. It stunk in the house, in the car and what was really gross was when they played in the pool with us because it was just oozing through their skin. I never dated a girl that smoked, either. It's unattractive and gross. Blech. |

I really noticed it last time I was walking around in downtown Chicago during the day and it was pretty irritating.

The chart seems to say 19% and that's where this poll is at after 43 votes. That's a bit more believable than the 0% after 15 votes. That said i figured CP would be a bit higher since we're mostly dudes who like football. More of a working class group. But maybe the Internet skews towards more white collar/younger folks
