There are all sorts of stats about the forum buried in the Admin CP. I'd love to make those available to everyone, but I haven't really found an add-on that does it well. But, I'm a stats geek, so I might bump this thread from time to time with useless tidbits that I find interesting.

Going back to one of my intial questions I wanted to dive into, of the 234 users who were active in 2000 (100+ posts in the calendar year, which is an admittedly high bar since it was less than half of a year left) there are 53 who have 100+ posts in the past year.

So roughly a quarter of the folks who got this place off the ground 23 years ago are still here. That's actually pretty incredible.

These only look at "active users" who have posted at least 100 times in the past 12 months. It's certainly true that there hasn't been as much "new blood" in recent years, but it's not as much of a drop off as I would have guessed (2023 doesn't really count). This one's actually super fascinating (and is definitely an angle that I'd never realized until now). Here are charts that look at our total yearly posts by subforum.



First, it's interesting how consistent the Lounge post rates have been since 2016. I think we must have all just chilled out at that point.

It's also enlightening that DC actually makes up around a third of total posts around here. (No wonder Kyle doesn't want to get rid of it...) It was even higher in 2020 for reasons I'm sure we can't understand...

Anyway, this is what I like about this stuff. You never know what interesting perspective will come from digging in a little bit.
