I'm sure had the previous regime still been here they'd be what they are now.

So have spent how many more millions a year than Pioli to fill in a few complimentary pieces, 30-40?
The Chiefs had the #2 pass defense with ZERO of the same defensive backs from the Pioli era (considering Berry was injured most of last year). Including Sean Smith, who should have been a pro bowler. We have the best backfield in football with an excellent fullback and an excellent backup in Knile Davis. We have a playmaker at TE in Kelce and the depth behind him is pretty solid. Even if our receiving corps needs improvement, DAT, Wilson, and Avant are an upgrade over Breaston, McCluster, and whatever other lousy receiving options we've had in the past.

The only area we've taken a step back is offensive line. And even there, the step back wouldn't have been nearly as huge if Allen and Stephenson didn't crap out this year.

That's not even talking about depth.

They improved because Dorsey decided in year 2 that he wanted his defensive ends attacking vs. playing 2-gap. He's said that in an interview before. That's smart recognition that undoubtedly boosted Bailey's career.

Some of us hardly need this to tell us that Clark and that whole ****ing family are the scourge of Kansas city and should sell, leave, and never come back.

Pretty-much the worst owners in all modern sports. Very bad judge of quality people in the trade of football.

Who knows I'm sure the talent was there but I agree with Zilla that it was more the scheme change than "Being coached up".

ahh, I thought you were referring to the 2009 article.

Either way, I think he knew everything that was going on under pioli and I think he's just as responsible for Alex Smith as Andy Reid. The only innocent one there is Dorsey. I think Clark's comments about drafting a quarterback in 2009 was fan service and nothing else. Certainly not honest, judging by the last six years.

I'd say we're in deeeeep shit if he doesn't draft one by 2016. That would indicate absolutely zero forward vision as a franchise, a clock ticking until the arrival of the next journeyman savior, and essentially a continuation of the 5 year plan we've been spinning our wheels on since 1989.

That's exactly the problem.

Reid's top passing offensive seasons in Philly (2004-2006, 2009, 2011), McNabb, Vick (McMahon and Young in spot duty) were five years were his quarterbacks averaged 7.7 per attempt and 13.22 per completion. Best McNabb did was in '06 when he went 8.4/attempt and 14.7/completion, and their NFC Champion year he was 8.3 and 12.9 respectively.

Smith gets close in yards/attempt at 7.4, but averages 11.3 per completion.

There was significant talent just beyoshitty management. And I believe Clark was the sole vote to retain Pioli.

3 of the 9 players you listed didn't play this year (or played very little), 1 other one didn't score a single point and another 1 is a declining old player who isn't what he was.

And we still won 9 games with glaring holes. The difference is coaching. We have an elite staff.

Sean Smith, Jaye Howard, Allen Bailey, Dontari Poe, Ron Parker, Hudain Abdullah and Justin Houston all look significantly better under this regime than they did before.

You think that is by accident?

Probably nothing more than an effort to let Pioli save face.

This was not a talented overall team when Reid got here. It had a handful of stars filled with shit surrounding it all. No complimentary players to support said stars.

Elite? Not sure about that, but it's a vast improvement over everything since Vermeil was here which isn't a high bar.
