What are teams going do shank punts? I mean your right they won't be directly wanting to kick to him but he will get some opportunities. Dante Hall got opportunities still when teams were afraid to kick to him.

It just means they will try not too but they will overthink it and shank it

Also comes down to field position if you are inside you own 30 trying to kick out of bounds you are going to lose distance trying to kick out of bounds so it is a double edged sword.

Although we've had some good kick returners in the past, Hill seems to have much more ability to help with the offense than guys like Dante and Vanover did.

I hope it's more than help. He is our antonio brown and would love to see the game plan reflect that. I want him to be so valuable to the offense that he stops returning kicks. I would rather he gets 80-90 receptions than return kicks.

He returns punts, not kicks. And with Maclin as co-#1 WR you continue to send out the guy to win the field position battle.

I've a feeling that you're wrong.

Teams should be angling all their punts but they don't. When an angled punt goes wrong it goes REALLY wrong so teams don't.

Teams are afraid to try to control their punts much. Some teams will if they trust their punters but most of the time they just have their punters hit it as far as they can while still maintaining their hang time.
