33 year old on final year of a huge contract for a 4th. Those 7 years make a big difference, but as I said, I wouldn't be surprised if some FO guy does something stupid. Thinking the chiefs will get a 1st, or multiple 2nd and 3rd round picks, for Smith is a homer dream that could come true but is highly unlikely. |

As long as Smith doesn't wind up with the Broncos or Chargers, we'll be fine. He would probably break the Chargers playoff drought

Chiefs decided on their future and they gave up house for it. I don't know I think they gave up too too much for Mahomes. He may pan out but they could have really helped out the defense and drafted some good players in the draft! Because D needs some help upfront as they seem to be getting slower and older. So it was a trade off! We will find out how it pans out but I don't think Alex will be here next year. They just can't afford it because they gave up everything for mahomes!

Honestly I really wouldn't be surprised if he ends up with Broncos! That would be a solid fit too! He can give them 3-4 years and they can draft and develop a QB in draft next year or year after. It allows them to focus on other parts of the game!

Really depends on how AS finishes the season as to whether we get a 1 or 2 or just a mid-rdr.
He must totally ball out and at least get us to the AFC championship game and that ain't happening with our horrid defense IMHO to get a potential first rd pick. At this point we will be lucky to win one game in the playoffs let alone make the playoffs if things continue they way they are because of our horrid "trench play on both sides of the ball and our 2ndary play. You can see AS is starting to get happy feet again and not trusting. He will have happy feet against Denver I assure you. Steelers exposed us and gave the blueprint on how to beat us pure and simple and we still don't have an answer for it. Play zone and punch us in the mouth. We have yet to punch back but it better be soon and that is if we can "punch in the mouth" in the trenches. Not trying to be negative but I don't think we have the talent to punch back in the trenches. |

I think smith is a decent guy. To play for a better team he will give negotiate a better contract. I always felt he was a smart dude not all about money! if he goes to a play off caliber team he will take couple of million less a year happily. Broncos make a decent fit! This is only because chiefs have no choice but to let him go!

Yea by record he is. Rivers is a unpredictable as they come. Guy wears emotions on his sleeves and when he is fired up he usually throws interceptions instead of touchdowns lol. Yes I would happily take Smith over Rivers. Rivers is not consistent.

Do people, here, have actual functioning brains? If Smith gets traded..it's to the NFC. They are NOT trading him within the division after a potential MVP season...for what a low 1st? Smith in Denver makes them a contender..
Cardinals look like the most likely landing point...but if he keeps this up, he's staying. You dont simply give away a top QB for the next Dee Ford.... Last edited by BlackOp; 10-24-2017 at 12:22 AM.. |

Are we even sure Mahomes would be a better QB than what Smith is putting up this year?
