Candylicious: Round 1, Heats 85 through 89 - Last Heat of Round 1!

The final heat of Round 1! We'll go with five heats in this thread to finish it out.

Here are the rules. This will be a head to head tournament. For efficiency's sake, I will run four (or five) heats in each thread.

Therefore, I will put up four (or five) pairs of candies. For each pair, you will identify the candy that you would most like to have at the moment of voting. It doesn't necessarily have to be your favorite candy overall, just the one that sounds good right now. For visualization purposes, you may assume that you're out trick or treating (dressed as a loaf of moldy bread), and the woman at the door is offering you your choice of two options. You can only pick one, or if you would turn them both down, you can pick zero (not to be confused with the Zero bar).

So to summarize, you will vote for four (or five) candies in each thread, one candy per heat. And here they are!

Heat 85: Aero versus Sour Patch Kids

Heat 86: M&Ms Dark Chocolate versus Air Heads

Heat 87: Nestle Crunch versus M&Ms Pretzel

Heat 88: Hot Tamales versus Russell Stover Assorted Chocolates

Heat 89: Ice Cubes versus Hershey Bar

Sour Patch. I like sour, and I don't know wtf those other things are.

M&Ms. Tough, but going with dark chocolate.

Crunch. Crunch is like Krackel, and pretzel M&Ms suck.

Hot Tamales. I love Hot Tamales.

Ice Cubes. These things are super awesome, and there's nothing special about Hershey's.

Round 1. I went with the Aero, but it's really close. I've never had a Sour Patch Kid, but think I might like them. In retrospect, maybe I was choco-biased and should change my vote.

Round 2. Same, and agree that it's tough. I've never had an Airhead, but they look really intriguing. I may have to go buy one.

Round 3. Definitely agree. Krunch is great and Pretzel M&Ms are terrible.

Round 4. I can't imagine anything worse than Hot Tamales. I might actually eat black licorice before I'd eat Hot Tamales. Russell Stovers are great, so I'd go with them.

Round 5. I went Hershey's out of sheer familiarity, and also because they would help me score with French girls if I ever time-traveled back to World War II. However, I'd like to do a taste test on the Ice Cubes, because they intrigue me.

This heat probably had more candy that I'm interested in and haven't tried than any other set of heats.

Ice Cubes are fantastic.

I love chocolate everything but I cannot stand pretzels and chocolate. Don't know why. I love both individually.

Can someone please describe an Ice Cube candy?

BTW - I voted for Hot Tamales over Russell Stover Assorted Chocolates in protest of the concept of assorted chocolates. You bite into one and think "Ugh, what the **** is this supposed to be". At least with hot tamales I can anticipate the exact foul atrocity that I'll experience.

What's with all the bubbles in that aero bar? Seems to me as though they're just cheating us out of more chocolate.

Aero
Air heads
Crunchy
Neither
Ice cubes

I went with ice cubes out of pure curiosity. I'd like to know more about them. I bet they're mint flavored. If so, Rain Man is gonna regret voting for them.

There's a chart on the inside of the box.

Hot Tamales are wonderful. Cinnamon is one of the top five flavors ever. In no particular order: Cinnamon, the tears of my enemies, clean healthy vagina, butterscotch, coffee or chocolate.

Ice Cubes are little squares of chocolate with a soft fudge-like consistency. They melt in your mouth very quickly and have a cooling sensation. I don't recall any particular flavor other than chocolate.

Based on your hate for candy, you aren't really fit to run this competition. All you do is tout chocolate.

Is there any candy that's good that you don't hate?

Voted:

Sour Patch Kids: Love tart and sour candy plus Aero is not generally available in the US.

Airheads: Again tart candy. Plain M&Ms are nothing special whether dark chocolate or not.

Crunch: Just a simple classic combination of chocolate with a crunchy texture.

Russell Stover assorted chocolates: Higher quality chocolate than what CP usually votes for. Assorted flavors should have something for everybody.

Ice Cubes: Never had ice cubes before but regular Hershey's chocolate by itself has a really rancid aftertaste. It has a much higher percentage of vegetable oil to cocoa butter than most other chocolates so contributes to an off waxy texture and weird taste. It is the worst chocolate in this tourney.
