Tom Clancy's The Division

Anyone play the beta? From what I played, it was pretty fun, but seems to be lacking the originality to vault it over other titles. I'm kind of on the fence about getting this, which is pretty disappointing. I have been anticipating this game since Xbox One and PS4 were announced at E3.

Anyone else have any thoughts? Are you picking it up?

The Division hasn't been getting great reviews. I built a new computer and got a free code for the new Hitman game. I'm not sure if I should get the Division or not. I've heard it gets pretty grindy. What is everyone's thoughts?

so, I'm looking for a very straight forward non fanboi review. What do you guys think of it so far? Is it going to require always having someone to play with?

yes, and no. If you want the best gear, then you need people. You can still do missions solo. A t least early on. i dont know about later and in the DZ you will most likely need others.

OK, thats pretty much what I needed to know. If I always have to be the weak link in the chain then I probably won't enjoy the game.

I played completely solo in the beta and have so far in the proper game...you can do it.

I actually think the Dark Zone is a lot more tense and fun when on your own...randoms will help you out as well but it doesn't have to be anything set in stone.

You dont need to group up to play the missions & get pretty good gear. You can go into the darkzone as long as you fight enemies in your bracket, you will be fine.

There is also public matchmaking for PvE & Darkzone areas, which group you up with others of the same level. I'm 26 and played almost all solo so far.

I have it on PS4...the learning curve is a bit steep and I love that. They can fix everything else but the core is good.

I've put in about 10 hours since 1.4 update and had about 20 hours prior.

The game feels so much better now.

The enemy AI is so much smarter, you actually have to be tactical to your approach. They lowered the enemy health so they aren't bullet sponges anymore, but like I said before, they made the enemies smart.

Very fun.

I agree. I played a bit tues and wednesday, pretty much sold all of my non-229 score stuff and bought a ton of caches. Enemy time to kill has been lowered, but as you said they are smarter and flank you like no tomorrow! They also hit harder due to the armor rework. Feels much more like a tactical shooter than before.
