All Things Video Games & Game Reviews

Hey guys...
Thought we could use a thread to help one another out with purchasing new and used games. Now that the next gen consoles are out and the holiday season will soon be upon us, many new games are going to drop. We've been throwing 'reviews' in several different threads or making new threads for each game. I thought we might like to converge and discuss them as a whole. Whether you're on PS3, 360, PS4, XB one or even a wii, PC and Mac, this is a repository for what you're playing and how you rate it.

Let's try to do a 1-10 scale for each game. Take into account the following:

Storyline
Challenge
Replayability
Graphics
Online functionality
Downloadable content
AI/npc's
Price
Length of gameplay

You can use all or some of those as a guide to score the game. If there are other aspects you'd like to tell as about with your game, please do so. These are just suggentions.

Please note what system, (if necessary i.e. It being exclusive to a system) you're playing on and let us know what you think.

1. Sucks, I'd rather watch Brodie Croyle play as our starter. This game is dogshit.
2. Don't waste your time. It's obviously been programmed by a bunch of chimps with syphilis.
3. I'd rather eat tapioca pudding out of my grandmothers colostomy bag, then stick my tongue in her stoma.
4. Meh, there's really better stuff to do, (like waxing my pubes) but I was lazy.
5. This is kinda like purgatory. It's not the best place to be but it could be worse.
6. Not bad at all... It's like I just scored a BJ from my hot first cousin.
7. Entertaining as all hell, kinda like the feeling where you just drank enough not to puke and can still walk.
8. Buy this game, I'm super-cereal. It's got stuff that makes my nipples tingly.
9. HELL F'ing YEAH! I'd talk more about it but I'm gonna be locked in place for a week just playing this ****er.
10. This game is like godfather two and the empire strikes back joined forces to **** your face off with wow. I'm taking all of my PTO days and going on FMLA.

EDIT: We can also discuss upcoming/all things gaming in here as well.
Enjoy!

So I picked up NBA 2k15 for cheap. Decided to play My Career option. Nice little RPG storyline for it. Your character has an immense chip on his shoulder through out and has a huge ego. You get some choices on what to say, but honestly it doesnt matter what you pick. Which is a good thing because your choices are "act like a dick" or "act like a sociopath." Fight for a roster spot, then get a 10 day contract, then get a full year etc. You get currency to level up your ratings by performing well in game. The problem is this requires you to play on 12 minute quarters to get the full effect. Difficulty also matters, but I dont really notice a huge difference in playing on Rookie vs Hall of Famer if you play smart. This feature could honestly need some more work. Also, you only play as your player. So you skip a majority of the game. The problem is when you get a huge chunk of minutes but dont start, the skip ahead button goes about 10 seconds further and you have to wait a couple plays for a timeout to be subbed in. THAT SHIT IS BORING. I want to play the game, not watch the computer play grab ass for 2 minutes.

Gameplay is just like every sports game of the last 5 years. Lets make all these animations you have no control over so it looks cool. Well that is ****ing frustrating as hell. I drive the lane, big man is waiting to swat my shot. So I press the pass button. NOPE. Player is already into the layup animation. I am at the mercy of it until it finishes. My shot gets rejected (-3 team mate points) adn they go on a fast break and score. (another -3 team mate points.) Defensive animations are an even bigger liability. I get blown by constantly because my player gets bumped or bodies up his man and I am stuck waiting for those animations to finish.

The great thing is the commentary. Best I have heard. They talk about players backgrounds, previous games etc. Still not the real thing, but the closest I have heard.

All in all it is okay. Fun game that can be very very frustrating at times.

Thinking this bad boy might be getting a bit big... I might start a new one once we hit 1,000.

Anywho, looking at the new mad max game coming out. It looks pretty damn good which is a rarity when it comes to movie licensed games.
Evidently it's an open world game, lots of crafting of weapons and vehicles. I'm definitely going to wait a few days after release for damn sure, it's an iffy project.
I honestly think the last decent ML game I played was the first Amazing Spider Man from like, 2011. Open world etc. with great music.
If Mad Max is decent, it'll be a good buffer game to play until October and Fallout 4.

If you time your moves right, and have your character high in physical abilities, the movements are much more fluid. You get bumped like that because your a 68 overall and your reactions in game are much slower than when you have higher speed/agility etc.

That is probably true, but similar things happen when playing as Jordan with my nephews.

Played NBA 15. It's not bad. Got a little old but I'm not a big BBall fan. Good graphics.

Saw some alpha gameplay of Dark Souls 3 today. Apparently they're shooting more towards an open world level design this time around and the atmosphere is a lot like Bloodborne.

It also looks like combat is going to depend on player style. Shields and shit are a huge part again but it's faster paced.
Might be really interesting. I can't believe they're already in Alpha.

so apparently if you do not confirm your email, nba2k15 will lock you out of your online account and your "my career" save. I had to reregister. **** you visual concepts.
