I personal prefer the classic; Because we are the Chiefs. Because Chiefs seems like a cheap knock off. Like comparing Dr. Thunder to Dr Pepper.

"Because Chiefs" is a more casual use. To be used when a single play happens, or a depressing front-office transaction is announced.

The other is a more formal declaration that should only be used for major events.

Example:

Alex throws redzone pick: "because Chiefs."

Two weeks from now: "Because we are the Chiefs"
