I see the intrigue with Peppers, I do, but I think a team taking him in the first has ambitions of using him on all 3 phases because of his playmaking ability, and I dont see KC having much value in a player like that at this point.
When you look at him strictly as a S/LB, his tape just does not have round 1 footage to me. I dont think he's within the top 8 of Dorsey's shortlist. Watson also performed his way out of our consideration this weekend, I'd be flabbergasted if he even fell to the mid-teens. I'm a big fan of Mahomes and his tape, but man this combine disappointed me. Not to the point of Kizer though, I want nothing to do with him after that showing. |

I think anything below Watson isn't enough in the arm strength department.

Damn...I bet we could get BIGTIME upgrades to Acker and Gaines in the 4th and 5th rounds in this draft.
Guys that would push Nelson and Mitchell for playing time...and that's NOT a slam on Mitchell or Nelson...this draft class is extremely deep and talented. GMs know it and because of the depth, teams won't rush to pick them early. I bet KC could get a guy at 27 that would normally go in the 10-15 range, too. Our corners would be |

It's crazy how many DBs are running 4.4 flat or faster.
This DB class is just insane. |

The guy we get in the second round would be a first rounder in any other draft. I can't wait to see what Dorsey does. I can see him moving up from that second round slot to the mid second and then moving up from the third to try and get back into the late second/early third range using some late rounders. I'd love to see Dorsey trade his first this year for a first next year and a second this year...still take a first round guy in the second and load up with an extra first for next year in the process. |

Welp if QB isn't there at 27 I could see CB. Top 15 talent falls down the board and we snatch em up just like Chris Jones.
I ain't mad at it

I wonder what round KC could get Utah CB Brian Hill? Looks like a good perimeter option to compete with Gaines and Mitchell.

I'd have no problem if Dorsey took a corner at 27 if he feels that strongly about someone...hell, I'd have no problem if he went right back in the third and took another corner, either. Strike while the iron is hot and see if they can play Mitchell into a big contract elsewhere in FA so KC gets another comp pick after 2017. Corners get stupid money in FA, so if KC can get a couple guys on super cheap rookie deals, he absolutely should before our current CBs get too expensive. If KC comes out of their first 4 picks with 2cbs, a QB and a linebacker, I'll be happy. |

Mitchell and Gaines are entering the final year of their contracts
Nelson is only signed through 2018 I could see KC going after at least 2 corners in this draft |

I can't see the Chiefs investing a fifth of their entire haul on a spot they gave a lot of attention to a year ago.
Would require some moving down for more choices |
