Is the value of a FG still 3 points?

Kaeding is going to have a hard time kicking a game-winner against when we score 4 times as many TD's as San Diego does.

I do not know Parker from everything I read there were many experts that thought he might not get drafted at all because he is too small to be an NFL TE. Anyone else drafting him as a FB or H-Back candidate would have done so on the 2nd day if at all because you don't draft fullbacks and H-backs in the top 3 rounds.

28-24

Sure seems like Kaeding could have been a difference maker in that game.

well i would be interested in how many people now, would still prefer Kris Wilson or Nate Kaeding...

My guess is over 90% would want Kaeding, if not more. I wont make a poll, because this is a dead horse.

While not a big fan of the pick, I hope that every player in a CHIEFS uniform turns into a Hall of Famer, that benefits the CHIEFS. Hoping that players that are on the CHIEFS roster fail becasue you don't like the pick is counterproductive to the CHIEFS winning. My main concern is the CHIEFS with a SB ring, not focusing on who I hope fails. I remember the discord on Dante Hall for a couple of years, but everybody is glad that we have him now. GO CHIEFS.

I agree. While some people thought we reached for players like Siavii and Wilson, I would rather see them reach for players THEY BELIEVE will help our team over players that will satisfy the public's desire to see a specific need filled by a media choice that would likely go the way of most draft picks anyway.

Wilson is going to be great for us. The guy can play fullback, Tight end, even some wide reciever, and also is a good gunner on special teams.

This guy can do 4 different things for us, whereas a kicker hardly gets into the game.

Besides, we already have Lawrence Tynes signed to a contract, a 2 year deal if I remember, after he lit up the CFL last year. I think he hit 84% of his FGs and has a strong leg. If we drafted Kaeding, that would have made 3 kickers on the roster. That makes less sense than 4 tight ends, one of which can play 4 different spots.

Wilson is a pick that has alot of value for a very small % of the league's teams. For this reason alone, he could not be valued as high as Gosselin lists him at. Almost noone is able to input an Hback into their scheme. Because we have Tony Gonzales, the threat is there in the two tight end set for a run or pass because of Gonzales ability to block for the run. Other teams who have a top receiving TE do not have the blocking ability to bluff the run play. They cannot input a FB into the passing game except as a screen pass because they would be too dependent upon them for protection. Name a half a dozen teams that could input Wilson into their system. Only by that mark could he be considered that high a pick. He would fail as the prototypical TE in the other systems because of his size and lack of blocking ability. He is only a high pick to the Chiefs, and the Chiefs upped the ante against themselves.

Exactly. If we're in position to lose to the Chargers by a field goal, we're in the kind of shape that even the Almighty Kaeding couldn't help.

Kris Wilson

Position: TE
College: Pittsburgh
Projected Selection: Round2

Pros: While not that big as tight ends go, Wilson has quickness and is also an excellent blocker...has soft hands and is very good at gaining yards after catch

Cons: Maybe a bit undersized as N.F.L. tIght ends go.

So no, not everyone thought he was going to go undrafted. And if I'd seen some of the game footage of him I've seen since we drafted him before we'd drafted him, I might very well have been on his bandwagon like I was on Kaeding's or Colbert's.

NFL draft countdown- round 4-5, #7 ranked TE, #131 overall
http://www.nfldraftcountdown.com/draft/value.html
NFL Draft Insiders #10 ranked TE, not listed amongst top 100 picks

NFL Draft Blitz- rd 4-5 on the value board, 87th amongst top 100 picks, #5 ranked TE

HuddleReport- #78 overall, combine analysis: Kris Wilson Pittsburgh

Kris is a good college player that could be a good pro player if he were more consistent. He really should be moved to the FB position in the pros. He came in and did his drills and did very well, but his size makes the move at the next level to FB a natural. Of course that makes him eligible to be picked in the second day of the draft.

I actually like the Kris Wilson pick, i've played the college football game and let me tell u he is pretty darn good on there and he's not a TE he plays FB on there. He may be better than Centers, Anders, and Richardson.
