The idea that Denver got away with OPI all season is false. |

Denver had it called only 6 times all season, which is just 1 more than Atlanta, Dallas and San Francisco. They were also the beneficiary of the call 4 times, which was fewer than only Washington and San Francisco. http://www.nflpenalties.com/penalty/...ence?year=2013 They got away with OPI all season long. For the record, they were also the #1 beneficiary of DPI, the #1 beneficiary of offensive holding calls, the #3 target of offensive holding calls. |

dude you always act like you're so much above everyone else it's hilarious you're just a total joke. The NFL isn't football! Ha. Ok man. Those 0-0 WC games are so much more riveting! Or!!! A team scores a goal so for the rest of the game they play 10 men on defense! Spectacular! I think the only reason you truly prefer soccer over football, or at least paint that picture on this board, is because you want to be like "soccer is way better and I'm the only person who gets it!" And somehow, I think you truly think that, too. You've brainwashed yourself. You're like the guy who won't drink Miller Lite or Bud Light because it's not an IPA or a craft beer. "Psh. I won't drink that piss beer! I have to have a craft beer! And take my dog to the bar with me! And read a book! And roll my jeans up! And then I'll snap some photos! And my girlfriend doesn't shave her armpits because YEAH!" Or am I off base? |

Any of you guys trying to make this about soccer are not reading the things I am writing. I have never even said football is better than soccer I love both. Just have problems with trends I see in NFL specifically. |

what are the trends?
It's pretty clear...as much as people want to scapegoat Goodell. Football isn't sustainable the way it is. The players are too strong and too fast. Concussions, unfortunately, turned out to be real! Things are going to have to change. and, if done right, I think football can still be a very entertaining way to spend my Sunday's, Monday's and Thursday's. (**** college football) |

Not letting defenders play defense. These constant rule changes or focuses. Also decline of Arrowhead being an enjoyable place to watch football (when it's being played and there is not a commercial break) the experience is completely different just a stadium full of angry people who don't know how to hold their liquor. Not saying there were times where there were not a lot of drunk people at football games and I am not trying to ban booze but the atmosphere at the game is just night and day different than in the 90s. This is aside from the average blue collar football fan being priced out of the game. These are things that are happening that bother me. |

do you really think the stadium has gotten drunker? Or are you just older now and realize that people are drunk? I went to every game as a kid at Arrowhead from 1991-1997 and I didn't even know what a drunk person was...and those were the best memories I have. I'm fairly certain that there were just as many drunks at the games then as there are now.

it's not like all of those rocking 90s tailgates featured bowls of punch and orange julius'
so uhm, yeah. I think that point was a cop out. Pertaining to TV revenue? I'm sorry. The commercials just simply don't bother me. Football has always, always, always had commercials. I don't see any difference now than I did 10 years ago. I can agree that it is much, much, much harder to play defense...but sure. Whatever. The product isn't suffering at all. Some people like to complain just to complain. |

and admittedly, I'm only at Arrowhead once or twice per year now... but the games I was at this year were both very enjoyable and I had zero issue with our home town crowd. |

yeah I admit...I took what you said out of context. I thought you were implying something you clearly weren't...so my apologies.
