Normal game has 12/13 possessions. Chiefs got 7 extra and offense only managed 10 points? That's awful
https://twitter.com/huthutdk/status/781058110542778368

This guy is a ****ing moron. The Chiefs had 9 offensive possessions.

Also, most of the turnovers came when the Chiefs already had a comfortable lead, and were running the clock out. Two of the turnovers were returned for TD's. Should've had 7 more on the board if it weren't for that fluky fumble out the endzone.

Was it a great, or even good offensive perfomance? No, but it wasn't nearly as bad as this biased pillowbitergot wants to pretend. I bet he didn't shit on any of the Broncos wins last year because of their inept offense, especially one they won by 20 ****ing points.

Total ppg, 9th.

They scored 39 offensive tds last year, which upon a quick glance, puts them pretty far down the list.

forgive me if I could give a shit about regular season wins at this point.

The knock on smith from the beginning, that youre completely ignoring is that he is good enough to win in the regular season but not good enough to get us a Superbowl ring. Him winning in the regular season doesnt disprove the basic point here. Maybe we will have enough of a good team to overcome his shortcomings, but that is pretty doubtful. Part of his success last season came from mobility and scrambling....I dont think that will coninue and so far this season it hasnt. If the offense continues to play the way it has been, I dont see us winning more than 9 games and even getting TO the playoffs.

Alex has been below average, Maclin has surprisingly dropped passes and the playcalling has been below average

Against that front, I kind of expected that.

Paired with the chiefs having their backup lg and 3rd string rg, it wasn't good.

yah im just trying to point out that last game actually , the passing offense was decent...

It was more of a playcalling and lack of run game that I think really caused us to not finished drives. IMO

If we couldve gotten the run game going we probably wouldve dropped a 40 burger on them

We've already went over this. The Chiefs had 0 ST's and 6 defensive TD's. If you take that away they were still top 12-15.

Which can be another reason why the offensive stats don't add up to the rest of the league. When defense and special teams score, the offense stays on the bench and the opposing teams offense comes out on the field again. The biggest reason the offensive numbers aren't better is because the defense has been so good. Reid's play-calling is affected by how well the defense is playing, Smith's decisions are based on how well the defense is playing, the offense stays on the sidelines when the d and special teams are scoring points.... All of these things are great for the Chiefs but are actually counter productive when it comes to offensive stats.

Fair enough... but there's always someone who says it. No body likes to win with defense. Holds true, for the most part, with baseball too.

Most people would prefer a bunch of home run hitters over a solid pitching staff if they had to choose one or the other.
