They didn't just take a flier on him either. His contract is incentive based, but he has a legit shot to hit many of those incentives. If he hits them all, it was a 2 year, $35 million contract.

AL is out of bench players, with five pitchers in the pen:
-Archer, Severino, McCullers, Miller, Kimbrel

NL has one remaining bench player, LeMahieu (2b), with four pitchers in the pen:
-Ray, Knebel, Davis, Strasburg

Some of those pitchers probably aren't pitching regardless.

I guess that list already keeps guys who aren't pitching (ex. Kershaw) off.

We're in the unstoppable closers portion of the game. Doesn't get much tougher than Jansen or Kimbrel. The NL still hasn't used Wade or Knebel either. Could be a slog.

No, but it would be funny. They change the rules and expand the rosters a few years ago because of a tie and then scrap it and the first game "back" is a tie. Come to think of it, I kinda want that to happen.
