No Combine thread?

Wake up, shitbags.

Early thoughts: this year's class of OL look great on athleticism, light on raw power.

The only OL whose measurements and bench press stand out as potentially elite was Ereck Flowers. Long arms, ideal size, 37 reps.

A favorite of kccrow's, Sean Hickey, did great on bench but has shorter arms for a tackle.

Ogbuehi continues to look like a tremendously promising prospect. Elite athleticism, as we'll all see soon, and 36" arms!

The kid from Hobart continues to look good. Strong, great size, good arms.

La'el Collins has measured disappointingly. He's barely over 300 lbs, with only-pretty-good 33" arms, and 21 reps. Time will tell on him.

A lot of people have been hyping DGB, but he is a developmental prospect. If you want a similar developmental prospect, than why not Darren Waller?

nfl.com has this to say about him

Quote:
Bottom Line
Late bloomer who is faster than quick and has coveted size-speed combination. Waller isn't just a tall receiver, he has legitimate hands and body control and can impose his size on mismatched cornerbacks. Waller has a low floor, but with a little more competitive fire and technique work, he could become a legitimate touchdown maker in the league.
http://stats.washingtonpost.com/cfb/....asp?id=203684
http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap300...oint-to-scouts
Quote:
Georgia Tech is a triple-option team and never has a true "go-to receiver." But even with that caveat, Waller always had been a clear and distinct No. 2 guy until the final two games of his career. DeAndre Smelter, a baseball player-turned-wide receiver, was Tech's top wide receiver the past two seasons, but he suffered a knee injury in the regular-season finale against Georgia.

Waller responded with two of the best games of his career; he tied a career-high with five receptions, good for 73 yards and a TD, in the ACC championship game loss to Florida State. He then had five receptions for a career-high 114 yards and another touchdown in the Orange Bowl win over Mississippi State.

Waller's strong play at the end of the season has carried over to the first three days of practice for the East-West Shrine Game. He has overpowered smaller defenders in drills, and NFL Media analyst Charles Davis noted that "even when he is covered, he has 'uncovered' himself" because of his sheer size and strength. Fellow analyst Lance Zierlein said scouts look for elite traits in prospects and that Waller's size is an elite trait.

While Waller does not have top-flight speed, he is a long strider who can eat up chunks of yardage, and he also is quick off the line, especially for a guy of his size.

There are some negatives. He has had some unsightly drops during one-on-one drills, though Zierlein said he usually shows "soft, comfortable hands." Despite his size -- and despite playing for a triple-option team -- Waller is just OK as a blocker and actually is more of a "shielder" in that facet of his game. Analysts also have dinged him for a passive demeanor, and Waller agrees with the assessment; he says he has to get to the point where the "passion for the game is just there rather than having to think about it."

And while he played a lot at Tech, he still is relatively raw as a receiver. Georgia Tech doesn't exactly have a sophisticated passing attack, with Waller noting the routes he ran at Tech mostly were "comebacks, posts and curls."

Anybody know anything about the QB from Prairie View A&M? Huge kid, 6'5", 250 lbs, 10.5" hands.
Just watched the QB's throw. This guy doesn't have enough arm strength to me. He had to do a Byron Leftwich windup to go deep.

Bryce Petty on the other hand looked like he was flicking a booger 60 yards. Effortless.

Winston was easily the smoothest of the QBs in these drills, but Marriotta and Petty looked good, and those 3 looked so much more smooth than any of the others in their group.

Petty is still a work in progress with his feet, but his footwork looked better in these drills today than RGIII has at any time.

Not too impressed with the speed of the RBs so far...ugh. Watch out for a RB from TCU next year....Aaron Green. If we don't pick up a RB this year I would love to have him next year. He is quick and changes direction on a dime. Watched him from the time he was 8 years old.
