The best you can do is have an armed citizenry that can drop said asshole as soon as he gets started. It would be nice if you could rely on the police to do it but, you can't. And that is not a knock on them, that is acknowledging that they cannot be every where at all times. In fact, I would hazard to guess that most bad guys try to make sure the coast is clear before they act. So the people being armed, at all times in all places, is your safest bet.

I would argue 'credible'...I see it more as nothing more than the writings of leftist progressives and I take it as such. I give it little credibility, but again, if that's your point of view, good for you.

I read the NY Times and find plenty of moderate views there... but OVERALL there is an undeniable leftist slant. Anyone who thinks otherwise is delusional. That doesn't mean that it should be discounted in it's entirety, just like not everything in the WSJ is far right conservative.
