MADDEN 15

This is going to be out within a month.. I have not seen many videos nor gameplay footage of the new madden. Only a few clips here and there, and I wasn't blown away, it looked to be the same as Madden 25.

I'll most likely still get it, whats everyone's thoughts on the game and what would you like to see EA do?

The last madden I really liked was 12, it went downhill from there. 13 was lackluster, 25 was decent on PS3(only got it for the NCAA rosters for franchise) and 25 on PS4 is alright, though nowhere close to the presentation of 2K5 which is really sad.

I hope this is a good year for Madden gameplay/presentation wise but I doubt it.

The damn thing is the same shit every year. They've got to get some different announcers, too. Sims' bullshit gets really old. Bring in some classic announcers or something. Al Michaels wouldn't suck.

It looks like the Chiefs are shaping up to be a potential force in this year's Madden.

We've got Jamaal (94) in the top 5 for RBs, Kelce (91) in the top 5 for TEs, Houston (97) in the top 5 for OLBs, and Sean Smith in the top 5 for CBs.

I'd imagine Anthony Sherman's rating will be in the 90s. Poe, DJ and Hali should be in the high 80s. Abdullah, Parker, Branch and Berry should all range from the low to mid 80s. Maclin should be in the high 80s, as should Alex.

Pretty true to life, our weaknesses should be lack of WR receiving options and offensive line.

My buddy and I used to take the day off when it was released, as well as the following day. Seemed to fall on Thursdays if I recall. We would play marathon sessions of madden. BBq beer, pizza.....

It was awesome. But shit.....that's been over ten years ago.

Sounds about right. I remember always bitching about why they didn't release it on a Friday.

Reading what you guys are saying makes me feel normal. Madden 05 was my first and I absolutely loved it, just like I loved 06 and 07. I got 09 on the Wii and hated it, I'd miss every damn field goal with the Wii Remote and didn't like the gameplay in general. A few years later I got 13 and absolutely hated that one. Ended up getting 15 cause I heard it was good, and while there were improvements.. it just doesn't feel like the game play is as good as 05/06/07 were. At first I thought that it was just a nostalgia thing, but I'm not sure it is anymore. Unfortunately I have those games on the GameCube, not the PC, so there's no way to update the rosters. Also, those soundtracks were freaking amazing. Madden 15 doesn't even have a freaking soundtrack, it's just stock music.

Also, while John Madden got annoying, they absolutely need to get rid of Nantz/Simms. They're horrible

I still play, and I still am pretty heavily involved in creating online leagues for commissioners.

Game-wise, I'm not as captivated as I was years ago, and if it wasn't for online league play I'd probably quit altogether. I suck at passing and just basically run the ball and kill as much clock as possible. Marty-ball'n it up.

Think of it as a Madden Connected Franchise, but only offline and with more tools at your disposal to run your league.

You schedule and play your teams games against other people online in a single matchup, and then enter your score/player/game stats into the site and it calculates/totals everything for you. Commishes can enter schedules, power rankings, manipulate rosters...etc.

I've been building that up for 3 years now along with a hockey site.

Honestly, I think it all comes down to player animations to why the gameplay sucks. I noticed this a lot while playing NBA2k15 lately. The game developers are all about making animations look as real as possible. So you have all these animations that take FOREVER to complete. RB runs into a lineman? We have an animation for that. Want to change direction while that animation happens? Tough shit. Enjoy running directly into that linebacker because you couldnt change directions. Same goes for playing defense. Same for basketball games. Sports games are no longer intuitive. You have to learn how to play around its gameplay deficiencies.

It is funny how in 3rd person action games, we hammer them if they have animations that do this same thing. Hell, in Wolfenstien, a FPS, you could stop the reload animation in the middle if you needed to. Yet in sports games, taking control away from the player is somehow okay.

thats why even in older maddens.. the animations were sometimes clunky.. but they felt like you can control it more and more realistic feel almost.

Madden 16 is going to be interesting. Charles, Kelce, Houston and Sean Smith are all in the top 5 of their respected positions. Shouldn't have a problem getting back into top 50 again this year in online ranked. It actually gets easier once your top 100 because everyone runs the same plays.. easier to figure out defense in practice mode for them.
