Any 50"+ tvs worth buying under $400?

See title.

My Samsung 46" has finally died pretty much all the way and it's not worth buying another tcon board and repairing again so I'm in the market for a new tv.

Was thinking about buying this but don't know how good it truly is. I'm not a hardcore videophile so I don't need the best tv on the market. Just something I can watch movies on and play a couple hours of games on a week.

Worst case scenario it's fubar on arrival to your house and you just get one that works. Got an off brand tv on a black Friday deal and it's been great for a few years.

Nothing wrong with a refurb, but that is too expensive for a refurb. Brand new is not much more. But it looks like it is hard to find.

It's a 48" but it meets your budget. Costco doubles the manufacturer's warranty as well.

Anybody have a favorite 55" in the under $1k range? Have a 6 month old 65", but we just moved and the inset above the fireplace won't fit it. So it's going in the basement and the largest I can get in the main floor space is 55".

I never knew Vizio was this popular. I might pull the trigger on one of those 50"s. Is having a smart tv even worth it though when you have an Xbox1 that does literally everything the smart apps on the tv can do and probably more?

Worth it? Probably not but most TV's these days are "Smart TV's" so most likely, it's unavoidable.

I have three Vizio's: A 2008 47" LCD, and two 2012 42" LED's. No issues, ever.

I think they are 2nd or 3rd most popular in US markets. They make solid budget TVs and starting to get better on the mid/higher end sets.

Also as Dane said basically everything is a smart tv these days.

Their 4K's look great and are relatively inexpensive.

I'd buy one on a heartbeat if I needed a new 65"+ but I'm good.

I'd recommend buying cheap and waiting 2 years.

4K is supported by NOTHING other than about 2% of the new games coming out and that's it.

THAT'S IT.

DTV/Cable aren't investing in 4k after they just spent a metric-****-ton on 1080p.

It's the new LAZERDISK...

Denver rookie QB John Elway, on Jack Lambert, after Lambert and the Steelers knocked Elway out of his first game as a pro (1983).
