I was talking about the ball, by the way. Not Gordon's wrist.

He sent Escobar that time. At least he learned from his mistake in the first.

3-1. I'll take it

It'll be interesting to see if Gordon stays in the game. That looked like a bad shot to the hand

I picture Gordon going Happy Gilmore in the batting cages before games, so to see him even flinch after getting hit has me worried.

Holding Escobar in the first inning was absolutely the right move.

Look, in hindsight he would have been safe. But Jirschele can't work in hindsight.

That ball was hard hit, right back up the middle. Escobar had to freeze for a second because of the shift the Rays had on at the time. Because of this, Escobar was just touching third base as Kiermeier fielded the baseball. Kiermeier has a really good throwing arm and has 7 OF assists. Guarantee you the scouting report on him is to NOT challenge his arm, and that's exactly what it should be.

Mike Jirschele gets a lot of undeserved hate from people that can't accept that the World Series would have ended with Alex Gordon in a run down if Jirschele had sent him.

I agree that Gordon would've been out at home by 20 feet in the playoffs on an average throw.

With Escobar on second he should be scoring on the hit in the first inning. We used to put pressure on the opposing teams and it worked for us. Especially with this weak lineup that we trotted out today.
