Hardest Video Games All Time

I have been going on a nostalgia tour of NES games played right on the console. No save states, no cheats, just hard-core, kick you in the balls gaming.


What are the games that caused you to swing the controller by the wire like a medieval mace, bringing it down upon the floor reducing it to an explosion of plastic shrapnel?

Let us know the game, what parts of the game were brutal, and the notable reactions the impossible scenarios summoned from deep within.

Once you figure out who to recruit early you could stomp through that game. I've tried several of the later releases but they changed so much nothing matches up to 3.

I could never get far in Nobunaga's Ambition, but I'd always pick a small place to start as.
Bandit Kings of Ancient China also could never get going.

I liked Nobunagas ambition but I didn't think it was hard, it was just very time consuming. the Hojo clan is the easiest clan to win with in that game. they have a corner on the map. and they can only be attacked from the west

Custom ruler one city 10k, when Cao starts with a million troops on the later scenerios good luck. The earlier scenerios are cake. 3 was pretty easy as they could only send reinforcements from neighboring cities, so his troop advantage was nullified.

Again, it's easy when you take a dominant clan. Play as custom on advanced for a challenge. You really have to work those alliances though. It can be easy or difficult depending on where you start and what faction.

As far as recent games go Bloodborne gave me fits. Must've spent weeks on a couple of the chalice dungeon bosses.
