Official NBA 2015 Off-Season

NBA Draft June 25th.
1Minnesota Timberwolves
Lottery luck means Minnesota can take either Okafor or Towns to solidfy the middle.
Karl Anthony Towns
2 Los Angeles Lakers
See above. Whichever elite big man is left after Minnesota picks is likely headed to L.A.
D'Angelo Russell.
3 Philadelphia 76ers
Philadelphia has one first round pick and a whopping five second round selections.
Jahlil Okafor
4 New York Knicks
The Lottery didn't go as they wanted, but there will still be plenty of talent available at No. 4.
Kristaps Porzingis
5 Orlando Magic
In need of perimeter scoring, power forward Kristaps Porzingis could be the best bet.
Mario Hezonja
6 Sacramento Kings
The Kings could be in good position to find the ideal Cousins compliment in Cauley-Stein.
Wilie Cauley-Stein
7 Denver Nuggets
In need of shooters, the Nuggets will have a handful of interesting options in play.
Emmanuel Mudiay
8 Detroit Pistons
Mario Hezonja or Winslow could be the way to go for a team lacking shooters.
Stanley Johnson F Arizona
9 Charlotte Hornets
Do the Hornets go with a power forward again, or go for the shooter they need?
Frank Kaminsky
10 Miami Heat
Miami's pick here depends on if Pat Riley believes Hassan Whiteside is the real deal.
Justise Winslow
11 Indiana Pacers
In need of offense and a shooter, Devin Booker would be the ideal pick here.
Myles Turner
12 Utah Jazz
Utah will be looking to add some more offense, possibly in the form of a stretch four.
Trey Lyles
13 Phoenix Suns
The Suns could be looking at a power forward, so there will be plenty of options.
Devin Booker
14 Oklahoma City Thunder
Finding a dependable backup for Russell Westbrook could be the way to go here.
Murray State guard Cameron Payne
15 Atlanta Hawks
Should Atlanta be looking to protect itself from free agency losses? (From Brooklyn)
Kelly Oubre traded to Washington for the No. 19 pick tonight and two future second-round picks.
16 Boston Celtics
Brad Stevens needs to add prospects on both ends of the floor to his stable.
Terry Rozier Louisville
17 Milwaukee Bucks
The Bucks would love to add another scorer to their young stable.
Rashad Vaughn UNLV
18 Houston Rockets
Is the possible backup point guard solution out there for Houston? (From New Orleans)
Sam Dekker
19 Washington Wizards Traded to Atlanta along with 2 future 2nd rounders for Kelly Oubre.
Is there a right fit at this spot to go alongside the team's thrilling backcourt?
Jerian Grant- traded to the Knicks for Tim Hardaway Jr.
20 Toronto Raptors
The Raptors need a shakeup badly, and will be looking for a youngster that can step up.
Delon Wright Utah
21 Dallas Mavericks
Forever getting older, Dallas could use youth in the front and backcourts.
Justin Anderson
22 Chicago Bulls
Will Chicago's new coach start molding his new team with a college face he knows well?
Bobby Portis
23 Portland Trail Blazers
Do the Blazers need a contigency plan if LaMarcus Aldridge leaves via free agnecy?
Rondae Hollis-Jefferson
24 Cleveland Cavaliers
The Cavs are always looking for shooters who can create space for LeBron James.
Tyus Jones will be traded to the Timberwolves
25 Memphis Grizzlies
Memphis might look to start replacing its aging big men with a project here.
Jarell Martin
26 San Antonio Spurs
San Antonio is always reloading from odd places. Do they go overseas again?
Nikola Milutinov
27 Los Angeles Lakers
After scoring big early, the Lakers will look to fill out the roster. (From Houston)
Larry Nance Jr.
28 Boston Celtics
The playoff berth proved that the rebuilding project is ahead of schedule.(From Clippers)
R.J. Hunter
29 Brooklyn Nets
This pick was swapped with Atlanta in the Joe Johnson trade. (From Atlanta)

30 Golden State Warriors
Kevon Looney

they will win more than 20 games when they

a) cut the circus act players like Nick Young, Jordan Hill, Sacre, etc

b) their archaic front off incorporates an analytics division and not just "we are the lakers" its not 1999 anymore.

it has nothing to do with old Kobe

Again, with his Bird rights, I'm a lot less concerned since Gilbert doesn't care about the luxury tax. If your owner is going to spend, why not overpay for a guy you need.

Of the 2, I clearly think Thompson is the better player. But he's getting paid more. And for the Cavs, he's much more expendable. The Cavs have to find a way to get minutes for Thompson, Varejao, Love, and Mozgov. And quite possibly another piece from the Spurs like Diaw or Splitter. Not to mention Sasha Kaun. I don't want to give these guys up for free, but a sign and trade of one of these guys would be nice.

You take away Shumpert and the Cavs' wing defense is really, really weak. You take away Tristan and the Cavs may still end up with a logjam at PF/C.

Varejao does not exist, Love is a terrible defensive player, and Mozgov is too slow of foot to be an adequate defender of anything other than 5's. Thompson is vital to their defense.

Love will get 30+ minutes a game. And he should. That leaves maybe 10-15 minutes of PF for Thompson off the bench. And PF is where Tristan belongs
Mozgov is a better option against a true 5. Kaun might get some minutes there too.
Varejao can't stay healthy. But he'd also only be asked to play 10-15 minutes a game. When healthy, he isn't much different from Thompson
And through all this, Lebron could play minutes at PF and dominate if needed. And the Cavs have a lot of options with that Haywood exception. David Lee and Splitter or Diaw have been mentioned as names

In other words, if the Cavs didn't bring back Thompson, they'd still have a strong PF/C rotation. With a trade, their depth could be excellent. Shumpert, on the other hand... what good options do the Cavs have right now at SG if not for Shumpert? Even with Shumpert, the Cavs are dangerously thin at Guard.

Kings trade Stauskas, Jason Thompson, Carl Landry, a future 1st and the right to swap 1sts in two other drafts for ..... nothing. They dump salary and picks in the hopes of signing Rondo and one of Ellis or Matthews. Yikes. Ranadive is a nut.

Meanwhile, the Pels sign Asik for 5/$58M. Huh? Nearly $12M for a guy who seemed a strange fit in his season with the Pels. And they're bringing in Alvin Gentry who has said he's going to play Warrior type ball. Maybe they see Asik as their Bogut.

Best post in this thread by a mile.

Lakers "brand" is dead. The fact they go into these meetings puffing their chests with a clown crew consisting of Jim Buss, James Worthy, Kobe and the guy who couldn't gameplan a 7 year old youth league basketball team, Byron Scott, and expecting to sell the off-the-court lifestyle as opposed to in game strategy just blows my mind.

The Lakers live in the stone age in regards to analytics. They think players are just going to come here because it's "LA".

Players don't give a shit about Kobe, the Lakers 16 rings. They care about how they are going to be used, how they are going to acquire more talent and the coaching staff around them. The Lakers are going into meetings with property next to the Playboy mansion but that property has a mold problem and foundation is falling apart.

The entire front office should be cleared out. Kupchak has done nothing without either Phil Jackson as his head coach or Jerry West as his boss.

This has to be eye opening for someone in that braindead FO that it's the 2nd year with cap space and no upper level player wants it.

That's what happens when you keep hiring junk coaches, keep referencing your past and have a garbage roster to sell.

I don't think it is. He's a real difference maker when you consider how many ways teams can play with him on the floor.

He's a plus defender, can hit open shots and there's really not anything he does badly. He's a good rebounder, a great passer for a big and can score when needed.

I love his game.

I love Sam Hinkie.

Because if the Kings are bad, no matter how many win now players they sign, their dysfunctional front office might ruin it all by firing Karl if they get out to a slow start and it will be all downhill from there.

Sixers can swap their pick and just own them lol

I think what the Cavs are really, really struggling with is... they really badly need guys who can play PG, SG, SF. And their Haywood exception is their only shot to get anybody decent. But most of the guys used as trade chips are PFs and Centers. Diaw or Splitter would be a great get for the team, but if they get either, it makes Thompson almost completely unnecessary. If Varejao's limited minutes can keep him healthy, it becomes almost entirely unnecessary.

If the Cavs pull off a Haywood exception trade for Diaw/Splitter/David Lee (one of those guys) I'd bet probably in 2016 the Cavs consider trading one of their PFs or Cs. And maybe it's a big name like Love or Thompson.

The Spurs are making a hard push for Aldridge.

Traded Splitter freeing up the cap room. Duncan and Ginobili are supposedly willing to take lower pay amounts to bring him in and keep Danny Green.

Kawhi is getting a 5 year deal.

Next year's Spurs could be better than the most recent championship team.

I like the Spurs, but I ****ing hate this "take less to get more" bullshit. It's so dumb. I think every player should have someone 'arbitrating' their salary and that's what they have to take. If they are a max level player, they make max level money. Period.
