Buy something from Hometeam. I don't care what but make sure it's from him.

I own a Ford truck and my company truck is a Chevy, both are good rigs.
If you buy a Dodge, you might want to get them to throw in a set of wheel chocks. http://www.ktvq.com/story/34098192/f...cle-roll-aways

Pay for an online subscription to Consumer Reports. They are a wealth of knowledge especially on trucks and autos. Well worth it. They are usually right on the mark.

F-150 and its not close.
Last time I talked about this I was accused of something like pushing people to buy because thats what I sell. 15 years in this business and I see vehicles all day every day, eat, sleep breathe, vehicle values and market etc etc etc. I no longer work for Ford. Buy an F-150 (pre-owned you can get with me :P) We deliver! Had a guy from Minnesota come down today and buy an F-250. Lets do something~ |

With those dogs, the cab size on the F-150 is another deal maker.

F150 is the best on the market. Tundra would be my second choice.

F-150 all the way. And yes, I am biased because I work at a Ford dealership. ;-)

I have a 2015 Ram Big Horn. Love it. It rode better than the Chevy because of the coil springs. Pushed the limits a little by hauling a fire pit in it. Still was fine. If you have money to spend, get the big model with the self leveling air bags.
Lots of room for the 5'10" kid in the back. Full size door. My old neighbor has the diesel that can pull a trailer. It is beautiful. get a solid 13mpg going to AZ.

I'm a value guy.
In 2015 I bought a 2010 with 20,000 miles. In my experience, Depreciation happens more with years than it does miles. Example a 2015 with 40,000 miles will be the same or more money than a 2012 with 20,000 on comparable models. That's been my approach. Miles wear out vehicles, not sitting in a garage. I'm a Chevy guy, but like I said, I'm driving an almost decade old vehicle, so I'm not the one to ask. |
